Dimming Characteristics
DALI Dimming Curve
The DALI dimming curve illustrates the relationship between the digital light value (0-250) and the light output percentage (0-100%). The curve shows a non-linear response, with light output increasing more sharply at higher digital values.
Switch-Dim Dimming Curve
The Switch-Dim dimming curve shows light output percentage over time (seconds) for actions triggered by a momentary switch. A short press toggles light on/off. A long press initiates a dimming sequence (down to minimum, then up to 50% brightness).
Note: We recommend the number of drivers connected to a switch does not exceed 25 pieces. The maximum length of the wires from push to driver should be no more than 20 meters.
1-10V Dimming Curve
The 1-10V dimming curve shows a linear relationship between control voltage (0V to 10V) and light output percentage (0% to 100%).
Dimming Interface Operation Notes
DALI
These products are supplied as DALI default group 0 and are 'plug n'play DALI' or 'independent DALI' system ready. They are also fully DALI addressable and can be assigned to groups using a DALI programming tool, within the limits specified by the DALI protocol or supporting DALI controllers.
Switch-Dim
The Switch-Dim interface allows simple dimming using commercially available non-latching (momentary) wall switches. Up to 64 LED drivers can be connected to one switch. The Switch-Dim interface can also serve as a manual override for DALI systems.
- Switch Action: Short press (<0.4 second) - Response: Toggle light on / off. (Note: short press must be longer than 0.1s to be valid).
- Switch Action: Long press (>0.4 second) - Response: Toggle dim light / increase brightness.
- Synchronization Switch Action: Long press (>15 seconds) - Response: All lights will dim down to minimum then return to 50% brightness.
1-10V
The 1-10V input is operable via commercially available simple rotary wall switches designed for 1-10V dimming equipment or from dedicated system central dimming controllers.
Note: If the LED driver is used with Switch-Dim or DALI interface before the 1-10V interface, the 1-10V interface may need to be re-set. This is achieved by placing a short circuit across the 1-10V terminals until the light returns to full brightness (approx. 3-5 seconds).
