Function Description
The Voice Module is the central module of the GIRA System 106 input communication system. It serves the communication function and supplies power to all modules connected to it. It also switches the backlighting of connected call button modules on or off depending on ambient brightness.

Module Installation
Refer to the installation manual for the 1- to 5-gang flush-mounted housing for System 106 for the following steps:
- Secure the module to the functional bracket.
- Connect the connecting cable.
- Install termination resistors.
Termination Resistor
Two termination resistors are always included with the 2-gang flush-mounted housing. Termination resistors are always connected to the first and last module on the system cable.
Terminal Block Mounting Position
Observe the correct mounting position (rotated) of the terminal block (see installation manual for 1- to 5-gang flush-mounted housing).
No Bridging between BUS and ZV
No bridges must be placed between BUS and ZV on the module. The module automatically recognizes if auxiliary power (ZV) is connected.
Module Commissioning
The Voice Module can only be commissioned in conjunction with a call button module via the control unit (see installation and operation manual for the control unit). All other devices (System 106 modules, home stations, control unit, etc.) must be pre-installed for successful commissioning.

Volume Control
Volume control is performed on the call button module (see user manual for call button module).
Activating/Deactivating Audible Signal for Call Buttons
Activating or deactivating the audible signal for call buttons occurs on the call button module (see user manual for call button module). In the activated programming mode, all confirmation tones are also emitted.
Status LED
LED Status | Meaning |
---|---|
Orange blinking ? | Programming mode is active. |
Continuous red ? | Failure of auxiliary power (ZV), short circuit, or undervoltage of the system bus, or ZV voltage > 30 V. |
Short green blink ? | Confirmation of button press. |
Replacing the Front Panel
- Open the housing and remove the functional bracket.
- Release the voice module and remove it from the functional bracket.
- Loosen the mounting screws ? and remove the front panel with the seal.
- Insert the new seal into the module housing.
- Press the module housing with the pre-assembled seal against the front panel.
- Screw in the 4 screws with a tightening torque of 0.75 Nm. Observe the sequence 1–4 when screwing, see illustration.
