Required Accessories
- System 106 Door-line buttons module (art. no. 555...).
- Audio control unit (art. no. 1287 00).
- System 106 Door-line buttons module 1-4 (art. no. 5531 9.., 5532 9.., 5533 9.., 5534 9..).
- System 106 surface-mounting box for 1 to 5 elements (art. no. 550x ...) or System 106 flush-mounting box for 1 to 5 elements (art. no. 551x ... or 552x ...).
- Gira indoor station (e.g., surface-mounting indoor station).
Accessories
- System 106 Door-line buttons module 1 to 4 (for expansion from a 4-button module).
- Power supply for intercom DC 24 V 300 mA (art. no. 129600) for additional power supply (AA).
Functional Description
The voice module is the central module of the Gira System 106 intercom system. The module serves both for voice function and for supplying power to all modules connected to the voice module. Furthermore, the voice module switches the backlighting of connected door-line button modules on or off depending on the ambient brightness.

Device Description
Front View
1 Microphone and loudspeaker opening: This is where the microphone and loudspeaker are located.
2 Status LED: Indicates the operating status of the module.
Rear View
1 Rotary lock (4x): Used for securing the module.
2 Video port: For video signal connection.
3 System cable port (2x): Connects to the system bus.
4 Module front fastening (4x): Secures the module front.
5 Plug-in terminal: Power supply (BUS) and additional power supply (AA): For connecting power sources.
Module Mounting
The following work steps can be found in the mounting instructions for the System 106 surface-mounting box for 1 to 5 elements:
- Locking the module onto the functional element.
- Connecting the cable.
- Connecting termination resistors.
Termination Resistor
With surface-mounting boxes for 2 elements or more, two termination resistors are always supplied. The termination resistors are always connected to the first and last module in the system cable.
Plug-in Terminal Position
Ensure that the plug-in terminal is correctly oriented (see the user instructions for the System 106 surface-mounting box for 1 to 5 elements).
No BUS and AA Jumper
No jumpers should be placed between the BUS and the AA on the module. The module automatically detects if an additional power supply (AA) is connected.
Module Commissioning
The voice module can only be commissioned in combination with a door-line button module via the control unit (see the user and mounting instructions for the control unit). For successful commissioning, all other devices (System 106 modules, indoor stations, control unit, etc.) must be installed first.
Module Configuration
Volume Adjustment
Volume adjustment takes place on the door-line button module (see the user manual for the door-line button module).
Activating or Deactivating Acoustic Call Acknowledgment
Activating or deactivating the acoustic call acknowledgment takes place on the door-line button module (see the user manual for the door-line button module). In programming mode, all confirmation tones will be emitted.

Changing the Module Front
- Open the housing and remove the functional elements.
- Unlock the voice module and separate it from the functional element.
- Loosen the fastening screws and remove the module front, including the seal.

- 4 Fastening screws (4x)
- Place a new seal in the module housing.
- Press the module housing with the pre-mounted seal against the module front.
- Tighten the 4 screws with a torque of 0.75 Nm. When tightening, follow the sequence 1-4 shown in the figure.

Warranty
The warranty is offered within the framework of legal provisions through specialized trade. Return or send defective devices postage-paid, with a description of the problem, to your relevant dealer (specialized shop, installation company, electrical retailer). They will arrange for the devices to be sent to the Gira Service Center.
