Introduction

Thank you for choosing Baby Trend. This manual provides essential information for the safe assembly and use of your Nursery Center Playard. Please read all instructions carefully before assembly and keep them for future reference. Ensure you have all listed parts before beginning assembly.

Important: Adult assembly is required. Always supervise children during use.

Safety Warnings

WARNING: NEVER LEAVE INFANT IN PRODUCT WITH SIDES DOWN. Infant may roll into space between pad and loose mesh side causing suffocation.

WARNING: INFANTS CAN SUFFOCATE:

• In gaps between a mattress too small or too thick and product sides.
• On soft bedding.

Never add a mattress, pillow, comforter, or padding. Use only the mattress provided by the manufacturer. Never use a water mattress with this product.

FALL HAZARD: To help prevent falls, do not use this product when the infant begins to push up on hands and knees or has reached the height of 25 in. (635 mm), weight of 15 lbs. (6.8 kgs) or 4 months old, whichever comes first.

Strangulation Hazard: Strings can cause strangulation! NEVER place items with a string around a child's neck. NEVER suspend strings over playard or attach strings to toys.

General Safety:

• Ensure latches are secure and the playard is fully erected before use.
• Discontinue use when the child can climb out or reaches 35 in. (890 mm) or 30 lbs. (14 kgs).
• Remove large toys and objects that could be used as steps for climbing out.
• Never place the product near windows where cords from blinds or drapes can strangle a child.
• Always provide necessary supervision. NEVER leave child unattended.
• To reduce the risk of SIDS, place infants on their back to sleep, unless advised by a physician.
• Never add improvised netting or covers that can trap a child.
• NEVER use if any parts are loose, missing, broken, or torn. Contact Baby Trend Customer Service for replacement parts.
• NEVER leave child in product with sides lowered. Ensure sides are raised and locked.
• NEVER use plastic bags or film as mattress covers; they can cause suffocation.
• This product is not intended for commercial use.

Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps carefully for safe assembly.

Step 1: Prepare the Playard Frame

Unzip the storage bag and remove the Playard frame. Undo the fasten straps and set the mattress aside. Do not push the center down yet.

Step 2: Erect the Top Rails

Pull up each top rail one at a time, holding both sides, until it locks securely into place. Ensure all rails are rigid. The center handle must remain raised (approx. 45.7 cm / 18 inches) for the rails to lock. If a rail does not lock, ensure the center handle is fully raised and try again.

Step 3: Secure the Center

Once all four top rails are locked, push down on the center handle. The center mechanism will automatically lock. Test each top rail by pushing down slightly to confirm it is rigid and secure.

Step 4: Place the Mattress

Place the mattress on the playard floor with the padded side facing up. Insert the Velcro® straps from the underside of the mattress through the slots in the playard floor and fasten them to prevent the mattress from moving.

Step 5: Operate the Brakes

To engage the brakes on the wheels, press downward on the brake levers. To release, lift upward on the lever.

Step 6: Folding the Playard

Release the Velcro® straps holding the mattress. Do not unlock the top rails yet; the center of the floor must be raised first. Raise the center as high as the top rails, gathering the legs and wheels towards the center. Locate the rail latch release in the center and bottom side of each rail. Squeeze the lever until the rail releases the tubes, then push down. If rails do not release, lift the center higher. Gather all four corners and the center tightly. Wrap the mattress around the frame with the padded side inward. Secure the mattress with the provided straps. Place the folded playard into the carry bag.

Step 7: Bassinet Assembly (Optional)

To use the bassinet feature, first ensure the playard is fully assembled and locked. Remove the mattress from the playard. Position the bassinet over and down into the playard, securing it with the plastic support clips until they snap into place. Insert the Mattress Support Tubes into the loops on the bottom of the bassinet. Place the mattress into the bassinet with the padded side upward.

Step 8: Diaper Stacker Assembly

Connect the Diaper Stacker to the playard's top rail by sliding the connecting clips over an open portion of the rail. Ensure it is securely attached without interfering with other features.

Step 9: Mobile Assembly

Assemble the mobile by connecting the lower arm to the arm holder, then the upper curved arm, and finally the tri-shaped arm. Attach the toys to the arms. Insert the assembled mobile arm into the playard frame.

Step 10: Music Center Assembly and Operation

Attach the Music Center to the playard's long rail. The Music Center requires 4 AA batteries. Unscrew the battery door, install batteries as shown, and re-secure the door. Use the buttons to select music, nature sounds, or sleep sounds. Two buttons control the unit's volume. The night light can be activated by pressing the NIGHT LIGHT button.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Use only household mild soap and warm water for cleaning. DO NOT USE BLEACH. DO NOT MACHINE WASH.
