Installation Instructions
These instructions provide a guide for fitting the GDW towbar (Ref. 1256) to a Hyundai Accent (2000-....). It is recommended to consult your vehicle's manual or dealer for specific towing mass limits and to ensure safe installation.
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Prepare the Rear: Loosen the exhaust system from its three rear rubbers and detach the bumper from its two supports.
- Modify Bumper: Make a cut on the underside of the bumper. The incision should be 60mm wide and 20mm high, measured from the lower edge of the bumper.
- Position Towbar: Place the towbar between the vehicle's bodywork and the bumper. Align the towbar's mounting points (A and A') with the pre-drilled threaded holes on the vehicle's chassis. The left-side holes are typically on the inside of the chassis beam, and the right-side holes are on the outside. Insert the provided bolts and washers.
- Attach Ball Mount: Place the towball and attach the mounting piece (-e) using the holes marked (*) on the towbar. Attach the piece (B) to the right side of the towing ring. Place the large washer on the other side of the towing ring. Insert all remaining bolts and tighten them securely.
- Reassemble: Re-attach the exhaust system.
