This document provides installation instructions and technical details for the GDW towbar, reference number 0421, designed for the Rover 4-series sedan models manufactured between 1996 and 1999.

Installation Instructions
Follow these steps carefully for the correct installation of the towbar.
Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle
Remove the rear bumper. Unscrew and remove the two caps located on the rear of the vehicle's bodywork.
Step 2: Position the Towbar Arms
Insert the towbar's two supporting arms into the openings in the chassis. Align the arms with the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the chassis, designated as points (A) and (B).
At point (A) (bottom), attach the mounting pieces labeled (-f). At point (B), insert the washers and bolts and tighten them securely.
Step 3: Attach Tow Eye Mounting Pieces
Attach the mounting piece labeled (-g) to the side of the tow eye at point (C). Align point (D) with the assembly holes for the ball fastening (*).
On the other side, attach the mounting piece labeled (-h) to the tow eye at point (C).
Ensure all inserted bolts are tightened.
Step 4: Refit the Bumper
Reinstall the rear bumper. Before refitting, you will need to cut a section from the middle of the bottom edge of the bumper. This cut should be approximately 7.5cm up from the bottom edge and 16cm wide.
Mount the part labeled (*) and tighten all components securely.

All bolts and nuts are quality 8.8.
Note: For the maximum permissible towing mass for your vehicle, please consult your vehicle's dealer or owner's manual. Remove any bitumen coating from the fastening points on the vehicle chassis before installation.
Technical Specifications: Bolt Torque Values
All bolts and nuts are quality 8.8. Torque values are specified according to DIN931/DIN933/DIN7991 standards.

Clearance Requirements (Guideline 94/20/EG)
The following clearance specifications must be observed, as per Supplement VII, illustration 30 of guideline 94/20/EG.
Side View Clearance
