Safety Warnings and Precautions
⚠️ WARNINGS
- Ensure the monitor is switched on and the sensor and audible port are unobstructed prior to use.
- This detector is a personal safety device. It is your responsibility to respond properly to any alarm conditions.
- Do not use the device if it appears to be damaged. Always inspect it before use and look for blocked filters and physical damage.
- Periodically test the response of the sensors by exposing the detector to a target gas concentration that exceeds the alarm set point. Manually verify that the audible, vibration, and visual alarms are activated.
- For safety reasons, this equipment must be operated and serviced by qualified personnel only.
- Do not attempt to replace the internal components. This will void the intrinsic safety rating and the product warranty (unless replaced by a WatchGas-approved service technician using original WatchGas parts).
- Deactivating the detector by removing the battery pack may cause improper operation and harm to the detector.
- The Li-ion battery in this product presents a risk of fire, explosion, and chemical burn if misused. Do not disassemble, incinerate, or heat above 212°F (100°C). Batteries exposed to heat at 266°F (130°C) for 10 minutes can cause fire and explosion.
- Batteries must only be charged in a safe area free of hazardous gas.
- Only use WatchGas chargers. Using other Non-Approved chargers can lead to fire and/or explosion. (The Wireless charger used with the equipment must be a suitably approved SELV / PELV supply with a maximum voltage not exceeding 5 V.)
- This instrument contains a lithium polymer battery. Do not disassemble, dispose of in fire, or mix with solid waste.
- Used batteries must be disposed of by a qualified recycler or hazardous materials handler.
⚠️ CAUTIONS/SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- All inspections should be performed in a clean and hazard-free environment.
- The detector should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth using a neutral cleaner (e.g., ACL Staticide). NOTE: Do not use solvents, soaps, or polishes.
AVERTISSEMENTS (French): Ensure the monitor is on and the sensor and audible port are unobstructed before use. This detector is a personal safety device; it is your responsibility to react correctly to any alarm condition. Do not use the device if it appears damaged. Always inspect before use and check for blocked filters and physical damage. Periodically test sensor response by exposing the detector to a target gas concentration exceeding the alarm setpoint. Manually verify that audible, vibration, and visual alarms are activated. For safety reasons, this equipment must be operated and maintained only by qualified personnel. Do not attempt to replace internal components, as this will void the intrinsic safety rating and product warranty (unless replaced by an authorized WatchGas service technician using original WatchGas parts). Deactivating the detector by removing the battery may lead to malfunction and damage the detector. The Li-ion battery in this product presents a risk of fire, explosion, and chemical burn in case of misuse. Do not disassemble, incinerate, or heat above 212°F (100°C). Batteries exposed to heat at 266°F (130°C) for 10 minutes can cause fire and explosion.
PRÉCAUTIONS/CONDITIONS PARTICULIÈRES (French): All inspections should be performed in a clean and hazard-free environment. Clean the detector with a soft damp cloth using a neutral cleaner (i.e., ACL Staticide). NOTE: Do not use solvents, soaps, or polishes.
警告 (Chinese - Warning): Before use, ensure the monitor is turned on and the sensor and sound port are unobstructed. This detector is a personal safety device. You are responsible for responding correctly to any alarm condition.
注意事项/特殊条件 (Chinese - Precautions/Special Conditions): This product is a gas detector, not a measuring device. For optimal performance, periodically zero the sensor in a normal atmosphere (20.9% v/v O2) free of hazardous gas. This equipment is intended for use in hazardous atmospheres where the normal oxygen content does not exceed 21.0% v/v. If the LCD antistatic film is damaged, do not use it and contact your authorized WatchGas distributor. Before using the detector, refer to the Sensor Poisons and Contaminants section (see SAFETY INFORMATION - READ BEFORE USE chapter).
Safety Information & Product Identification
Sensor Contamination: WatchGas recommends checking catalytic combustible sensors with calibrated gas after exposure to known catalytic contaminants/toxic substances (sulfur compounds, silicone vapor, halogenated compounds, etc.). Catalytic combustible sensors are calibrated to detect 50% LEL methane at the factory. If monitoring other combustible gases within the % LEL range, use appropriate gas to calibrate the sensor. Do not use butane lighters to test combustible sensor response, as it may damage the catalytic LEL sensor.
Warning: Out-of-range readings may indicate concentration has reached an explosive level.
Rapid increase, followed by a decrease or unstable readings, may indicate gas concentration exceeding the upper scale limit, posing a danger.
Prolonged exposure to specific gas concentrations may stress the sensor element, affecting its performance. If an alarm sounds due to high gas concentration, calibrate the detector. Replace the sensor if necessary.
Do not expose the detector to electrical shock or severe mechanical impact. Ensure pump function is normal before use.

Operation and Menu
Getting Started
Warning: The pump cover must be installed for calibration and full device verification.
If the pump cover is installed at startup, the pump will automatically start when the detector is turned on. After sensor warm-up, the user will be prompted for a "BLOCK INLET" test to complete the inlet test.
If the BLOCK INLET test is successful, the device will begin normal operation. If the user fails the first BLOCK INLET test, they have three more attempts to complete it; otherwise, the device will shut down.
To deactivate the detector: Press and hold the button until the countdown finishes and the LCD turns off.
To view TWA, STEL, and Peak (maximum) readings: Press the button twice.
To clear Peak readings: Press the button when CLR is displayed.
To activate NFC: Press and hold the button for 1.5 seconds until a beep is heard and the NFC icon becomes active.
To activate backlight: Press the button during normal operation.
To acknowledge a latching alarm: Press the button.
To activate the detector: Press and hold the button until the 3-second countdown completes.
Self-Test
Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to perform a self-test. The detector will then alarm, and the display will light up.
Normal Operation
During normal operation, the display shows the installed sensors. A smiley face indicates no issues.
Press and hold the button for 1.5 seconds until a beep is heard and the NFC icon starts flashing.
Use the WatchGas SST application or SST Dock to configure the device. Refer to the manual for detailed information.
