Button Function

Power Button / Pause Button: Press and hold for 3 seconds to turn the printer on or off.

Label Feed / Pause Button:

  • When the printer is on and idle: Short press initiates a paper feed test operation (feeds one label or a segment of continuous paper). Long press prints printer self-test information.
  • During Printing: Short press completes the current print job and pauses. Press again to resume.

Indicator Light: Displays printer status:

  • Green: Normal operation.
  • Red Flashing: An error has occurred. Refer to APP or PC software for resolution.
  • Yellow: Printing is paused.

Reset Button: Press to reset the printer to its default settings. ⚙️

USB Port / Charging Port: Used for data transfer and charging. ?

Power Light: Indicates power and charging status:

  • Red: Printer is charging.
  • Green: Printer is fully charged.

Top Cover: Covers the consumables compartment.

Consumables Cartridge: Holds the label roll and thermal transfer ribbon.

Label Outlet: Where the printed labels exit.

Label Cutter: Press to cut the label. ✂️

Change the Label & Ribbon Box

Follow these steps to replace the consumables:

  1. Open the printer cover.
  2. Carefully take out the old consumables box by holding points 'a' and 'b' (as indicated in diagrams).
  3. Install a new consumables box.

APP Print

Printing via the mobile application involves these steps:

  1. Scan to get APP: Download the MakeID application from your device's app store.
  2. Enter APP: Launch the application.
  3. Connect Bluetooth: Pair your printer with your mobile device via Bluetooth.
  4. Get printing templates: Select or create a label template.
  5. Edit the contents: Customize the text and design of your label.
  6. Print: Send the label design to the printer for printing.

Daily Maintenance

Print Head Cleaning

Clean the print head when:

  • Printing is not clear.
  • Certain columns in the vertical direction are unclear.
  • Consumables are used up.

Cleaning Steps:

  1. Turn off the printer, open the upper cover, and remove the consumables cartridge.
  2. If printing just finished, wait for the print head to cool down completely.
  3. Use a soft cotton swab dipped in absolute ethanol (wrung out) to wipe dust and stains from the print head surface.
  4. Wait 3-5 minutes for the ethanol to evaporate completely before reinstalling the label box.

Notes for Maintenance:

  • Ensure the printer is powered off during maintenance.
  • Do not touch the print head surface with hands or metal objects. Avoid scratching the print head surface, printing glue, or sensor with tools.
  • Do not use gasoline, acetone, or other organic solvents.
  • Wait for absolute ethanol to evaporate completely before turning on the power.

Warranty Policy

Warranty Period: MakeID provides a 1-year limited liability repair or replacement service for hardware failures, provided the product is installed and used according to this manual.

  • Order number, contact information, and delivery details are required for after-sale services.

Ineligibility for Warranty Service: Free warranty does not cover malfunctions or damage due to:

  • Exceeding the warranty period.
  • Failure to install/use per the manual.
  • Unauthorized repairs or disassembly.
  • Use of non-MakeID labels or unsupported media.
  • Operating environment not conforming to specifications.
  • Substandard packaging or transportation by users.
  • Use of non-MakeID components.
  • Force majeure events (e.g., natural disasters).
  • Issues not caused by product quality.

This policy does not affect your legal consumer rights.

Precautions:

  • Use the printer only as described in this manual to prevent accidents or damage.
  • Only MakeID official labels are supported. Using other brands may damage the print head and void the warranty.
  • The print head generates heat; avoid touching it and nearby components during or immediately after printing.
  • Prevent static electricity damage by not touching the print head. Clean with anhydrous alcohol if dirty.
  • Do not scratch the print head with hard objects; improper maintenance voids warranty.
  • Do not place foreign objects at the label exit.
  • Avoid pressing or hitting the printer.
  • Stop use immediately if the printer is wet or damaged.
  • Keep the printer away from direct sunlight, rain, heaters, and extreme temperatures/humidity. Recommended conditions: 0°C~40°C, 5%-85% RH.
  • Allow the printer to acclimate to room temperature if moved from a cold to a warm environment.
  • Avoid placing labels where hands frequently touch, as sweat and friction can fade printings.
  • Do not expose labels to chemical liquids for extended periods.
  • Remove and tear off the label at the exit after each printing task to prevent jamming.
  • Do not disassemble the printer to avoid electric shock or injury.
  • Power off immediately if the printer emits smoke or odor.
  • Do not force open the cover during operation.
  • Avoid burns from the hot print head.
  • To protect the print head and extend its life:
    • Limit continuous printing to 8 meters.
    • Limit total daily printing to 30 meters.
  • Set printing density/darkness as low as possible while meeting requirements to preserve print head life.
  • Protect the print head from corrosion:
    • Do not touch the print head surface.
    • Do not use carbon ribbons or label paper containing sodium (Na), potassium (K), or chlorine (Cl) ions.
    • Keep the print head away from liquids or wet objects.
    • Clean the print head only with anhydrous alcohol.
  • Keep this manual for future reference.
