Label Installation

This printer can only print continuous labels. Please ensure that you use official MakeID labels, otherwise, the printer may be damaged or abnormal printing occurs.

Continuous labels: Label length unlimited.

Instructions:

  1. Open the label storage cover on the back of the printer.
  2. Place the label roll into the storage, ensuring it is oriented correctly as shown in the figure. Pull out some labels to avoid printing problems.
  3. After placing the label roll, close the storage cover and press the Cutter to cut off the label.

Note: When using a new roll of label for the first time, pull all transparent part of the leading label out of the exit.

Operation

Power On/Off

The printer is powered by a lithium battery. When the power is sufficient, long press the Power On/Off button for 2 seconds to light up the screen and power on the printer.

When the printer is powered on, long press the Power On/Off button for 2 seconds for powering off.

The printer automatically powers off after 30 minutes if without any operation.

Creating Labels

You can print directly from the keyboard or connect to your mobile phone via Bluetooth to download the app to print.

Printing from the Keyboard

1. Typing

Confirm the label width (9mm, 12mm, or 16mm) and select your corresponding width. Abnormal printing may occur if a wrong width is selected.

Type the text you want to print.

Connecting to Your Mobile Phone via Bluetooth

Scan the QR code to download the app directly, or go to Google Play or App Store to search for "MakeID-Life" to download.

Printing from the App

  1. Connect to the Printer: Open the app and grant requested permissions. Search for the printer and connect via the app (not phone Bluetooth settings).
  2. Typing & Design: Confirm label width in the app. Enter the label creation screen. Click [A] to edit text, [T] to select fonts and sizes, and [ ] to insert stickers and icons.
  3. Printing: Click the "Print" button to access the preview page. You can batch print up to 70 copies. After printing, press the Cutter to cut the label.

Charging and Maintenance

Charging

The printer is powered by a lithium battery and uses a Type-C input (5V-2A) for charging. Use the provided Type-C cable and a standard Type-C charging head.

Charge the printer every 3 months for long periods of non-use to prevent battery degradation.

Stickup

The bottom side of the label has an easy-peel opening. Peel off the sticker from the back of the label before use.

Troubleshooting

Problem Causes and Solutions
Printer unable to power on or it powers off when using Cause: Battery may be dead.
Solution: Recharge before use.
No print or incomplete printing Cause: Label roll incorrectly installed, labels run out, or storage cover not shut.
Solution: Refer to 'Label Installation', replace labels, ensure cover is shut.
Blurred printing Cause: Printer used under low temperature (5°C-35°C) or dirty print head.
Solution: Ensure proper temperature, clean print head with alcohol wipes.
Printer powers off during printing Cause: Battery may be dying.
Solution: Recharge.
Unable to download 'MakeID-Life' app Solution: Scan QR code or search app stores for "MakeID-Life". Check network connection.
Phone unable to connect to the printer Solution: Verify app download, check phone Bluetooth, grant permissions, connect via app (not phone settings).

Warranty Information

MakeID provides a three-year warranty from the date of purchase. During this period, MakeID will repair the product free of charge for quality and functionality issues.

To request repair or replacement, provide order number, contact details (name, phone, address), and ship the product in full packaging. MakeID is not responsible for lost or damaged shipments.

The product must be used strictly according to the user manual. MakeID is not liable for issues caused by accident, misuse, modification, or negligence.

This warranty is exclusively for MakeID label paper. Failures caused by third-party label papers are not covered. This warranty does not affect your legal consumer rights.
