Alphacool NexXxoS GPX-A 270 M05 Installation Instructions
This document provides instructions for the installation of the Alphacool NexXxoS GPX-A 270 M05 graphics card cooler.
Important Notes & Safety Information
General Warnings:
- Ensure your hardware and cooling system are functioning correctly (tightness, pump, fans) before proceeding. This minimizes troubleshooting time. Alphacool is not liable for manufacturer warranties of electronic components. Installation is at your own risk.
- Do not overtighten screws. Overtightening can loosen mounting bolts, preventing uniform cooler contact.
- Avoid using tools like wrenches for fastening connections. Connectors with 8mm threads may restrict flow.
- Perform a leak test before installing the cooler. Water pressure in the loop should not exceed 0.8 bar.
- Verify that the cooler makes contact with all components to be cooled using thermal paste and pads. The image shows the correct imprint of a GPU.
- Safety Advice: Not suitable for children under 6 years (contains small parts). Do not operate cooling components without ensuring coolant flow. Uncooled components can overheat and cause burns or damage computer hardware. Always ensure the pump is operational when the hardware is powered on.
- Do not use tools like wrenches or pliers on connectors. Plastic or metal threaded connections linked to plastic parts can be easily overloaded, leading to cracks or damage. Coolant leaks due to such damage are not covered by warranty. Use connectors with a sealing ring; hand-tightening is sufficient. Tools are only to be used when explicitly indicated in the instructions.
Intended Use: Alphacool cooling components are approved for cooling computer components. Warranty is void for improper use.
Warranty Information

Assembly Instructions
- Preparation: Place the hardware on an antistatic mat. Disassemble the original cooler. Carefully remove fan connectors and any attached parts. If the original cooler uses thermal glue, exercise extreme caution to avoid damaging components. Keep all parts. Clean the hardware of thermal paste or pad residue using a solvent (e.g., alcohol).
- Thermal Paste Application: Apply a thin, even layer of thermal paste to the GPU using a plastic strip or spreader. The layer should be less than 1mm thick to prevent contamination of surrounding components.
- Thermal Pad Placement:
- Remove protective films from the red-marked 15mm x 15mm x 1.5mm thermal pads and place them on the memory chips.
- The orange-marked 30mm x 30mm x 2mm thermal pads for the voltage converters need to be trimmed to size. Remove protective films from both sides.
- Cooler Mounting: Remove any protective film from the cooler's base. Clean the contact surfaces on the cooler's base with alcohol or a similar agent to ensure they are free of contaminants. Place the assembled cooler onto the graphics card as shown in the image.
- Backplate Installation: Cut the yellow-marked thermal pads for the backplate as shown in the image. Place these on the rear side of the voltage converters and the GPU. Remember to remove protective films from both sides. Position the backplate onto the graphics card as depicted. Gentle pressure ensures optimal contact between the backplate, cooler, and graphics card.
- Final Assembly: Screw the cooler together. Tighten screws crosswise, one turn at a time. Refer to the instructions for proper tightening. After approximately 12 hours of graphics card usage, re-tighten all screws.
