Get Ready

Know your Wi-Fi network name and password.
Ensure your mobile device is running iOS 13.3 or higher and Android 9.0 or higher.
Make sure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (Lumary cannot connect to 5GHz networks).

Installation and Safety Instructions

Power Safety: Before starting any wiring, ensure power is completely disconnected at the circuit breaker or fuse. Switching off the wall light switch is insufficient to prevent electrical shock.
Professional Installation: A qualified, licensed electrician must perform the installation.
Mounting Requirements:
- The outlet box and mounting structure must be securely attached and capable of supporting at least 50 lbs.
- Use only UL-listed (or CUL-listed for Canadian installations) outlet boxes labeled “FOR FAN SUPPORT.”
Clearance: The fan blades must be installed with at least 7 feet of clearance from the floor to the blade tips.
Reversing Fan Direction: Do not engage the reversing switch while the fan blades are moving. Turn off the fan and wait until the blades have fully stopped before changing the direction.
Blade Safety: Keep all objects and body parts clear of the fan blades' path to prevent injury or damage.
Caution When Cleaning: Exercise care when working near or cleaning the fan to avoid injury or damage.
Cleaning Instructions: Do not use water or detergents. Clean blades with a dry dust cloth or a lightly dampened soft cloth only.
Wiring Guidance:
- After making electrical connections, gently push and arrange the wires upward into the outlet box.
- Grounded conductors should be separated on one side of the outlet box.
Electrical Diagrams: Any provided electrical diagrams are for reference only, as light fixtures may vary.
Use Approved Replacement Parts: Use only approved replacement parts. This equipment complies with FCC Class B digital device regulations to reduce harmful interference.

Warning:

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, mount the fan only to an outlet box marked "Acceptable for Fan Support."
If the existing outlet box is not rated for fan support, it must be replaced.
Do not bend blade brackets (flanges) during assembly or after installation.
Do not insert objects into the blade path.
If uncertain about any aspect of the installation, consult a qualified electrician.

Installation Steps:

It is recommended to have two people work together during the installation. For added safety, use a hook to hang the lamp by its edge or a safety rope to secure the fan.

Step 2: Install Hanging Plate. Install a J-BOX compatible with the chassis (2 3/4"-4"). Screw the hanging plate to the J-box. [Diagram: J-Box with hanging plate being screwed in.]

Application Connection

1. Download and Install: Find and install the "Lumary" App on the App Store or Google Play.

2. Register Account: Create a Lumary account by entering your email address and password. Please select your region and country.

3. Connect Device:

NOTE: Lumary's products can't connect to 5GHz networks. Ensure you are using a 2.4GHz network.

Steps:

Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device to add Wi-Fi devices easily.
When the device is powered on, confirm the light is breathing or blinking to indicate pairing mode.
Open the Lumary App, navigate to the Devices screen, and tap "+" to select "Add Device".
If the device is not in pairing mode, use the wall switch to reset: on-off-on-off-on.
Find the device, choose your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, and enter the password. Press "Next".
Click "Add", wait patiently, and then click "Done". The device is successfully added to the App.
Alternatively, in the Lumary App, tap "+" >> Choose "Lighting" >> Select "Light Source (BLE + Wi-Fi)" >> Select "AP Mode" or "EZ Mode" in the upper right corner.

Troubleshooting

Cannot connect to Wi-Fi network:
- Ensure you entered the correct Wi-Fi password.
- Check for any Internet connection problems.
- If the Wi-Fi signal is too weak, reset your Wi-Fi router and try again.
Fail to bind device:
- You may need two phones: one to set up the hotspot and the other to connect to it and add the device via the app.
- If the device is successfully added, it is normal. The problem might be with the router. Check your router settings for MAC and DHCP restrictions.
- Remember, Lumary products do not support 5GHz networks.
Device appears offline or unreachable:
- Make sure your Wi-Fi router is online and in range.
- Check for the latest Lumary functionality by clicking "Check for firmware update" in your device settings.
- Try turning off the device, clearing the application cache, rebooting the router, and then turning the device back on after one minute. Check the device status after five minutes.
How to reset the device:
- To reconnect to Wi-Fi, reset the device through the wall switch: on - off - on - off - on. This reaches Easy Mode, indicated by a rapidly blinking white light. Refer to connecting in Easy Mode.
- Long press button "6" on the remote for 5 seconds to make the fan light enter App pairing mode.

Group Control

Control multiple Lumary devices together by creating groups in the app.

Log in to the Lumary App, tap a smart device, and enter its settings. Click the edit icon (✏️) in the top right corner.
Tap "Create Group", then select the devices you want to include and save.
You can reset the group name and save it. The group can then control all added devices.

Remote Control

The remote control allows for convenient operation of your Lumary Smart Ceiling Fan Light.

How to reset the fan light using the remote control?

Long press the FAN ON/OFF button for 5 seconds; the fan light will enter a breathing state.

A. Pairing the Remote Control:

Power Connection: Connect the device to a power source and verify normal operation by ensuring the indicator light turns on slowly.
Power Cycle: Turn off the device's power for 5-10 seconds, then turn it back on.
Initiate Pairing: Press the Button ➂ twice; the light will breathe or blink.
Completion: The remote is successfully paired and can now control the device.

B. Unbinding the Remote Control:

Power Connection: Connect the device to a power source and verify normal operation by ensuring the indicator light turns on slowly.
Power Cycle: Turn off the device's power for 5-10 seconds, then turn it back on.
Initiate Unbinding: Press and hold Button ➂ until the device flashes three times rapidly, then release.
Completion: The remote control has been cleared and will no longer operate the device until re-paired.

FAQ

Why does the flickering occur with Lumary products?
Lumary products are factory set to default network configuration. If the device has not been connected to the network, it will flash for three minutes each time it is powered on. If the device is connected to the network, it will stop flashing and automatically connect when switched off and on via the wall switch after 15 seconds.
What should I do if the device appears offline or is unreachable?
Make sure your Wi-Fi router is online and in range. Check for the latest Lumary functionality by clicking "Check for firmware update" in your device settings. Try turning off the device, clearing the application cache, rebooting the router, and then turning the device back on after one minute. Check and confirm the device status after five minutes.
How do I reset the device?
- To reconnect to Wi-Fi, reset the device through the wall switch: on - off - on - off - on. This reaches Easy Mode, indicated by rapidly blinking white light. Refer to connecting in Easy Mode.

Work With Amazon Alexa

Log in to the Lumary App, tap the smart device, and enter its settings. Click the edit icon (✏️) in the top right corner.
Tap "Alexa" in Third-party Control.
Tap "Sign In With Amazon".
Tap "Allow" to Sign-In to Lumary.
Linked successfully. When adding a new device, there is no need to link again; just discover the new device in Alexa.

To control your Lumary smart device, just ask Alexa. Make sure your devices are already set up using the Lumary app.

Work With Google Assistant

Log in to the Lumary App, tap the smart device, and enter its settings. Click the edit icon (✏️) in the top right corner.
Tap "Google Assistant" in Third-party Control.
Tap "Link with Google Assistant".
Click "Agree and link".
Linked successfully. When adding a new device, there is no need to link again; just discover the new device in Google Home.

To control your Lumary smart device, just say "Hey Google", and ask. Make sure your devices are already set up using the Lumary app.
