HomeLink RF Transceiver
The HomeLink RF transceiver is a convenient system that can replace up to three remote control devices. It is used to activate garage door openers, gate openers, security systems, and home lighting.

Before Programming
CAUTION! Disconnect the remote device during programming if repeated use of the remote control is required. Repeated use of the remote control during the programming process may damage the remote device.
NOTES
- The HomeLink system is compatible with many remote devices. For information on compatible devices and to access instructional videos, visit the website: www.HomeLink.com.
- For best results, install a new battery in the remote control before beginning programming. If the remote device receiver has an antenna, ensure it is extended.
Programming
NOTES The following instructions apply to most systems compatible with HomeLink. However, some HomeLink applications or compatible systems may require slightly different instructions. For more information and access to video tutorials, go to the website: www.HomeLink.com.
NOTES Garage door openers manufactured after 1995 may be protected by a rolling code. In this case, a ladder or other sturdy structure may be required to access the "Learn" or "Smart" button on the garage door opener device.
- 1. HomeLink buttons.
- 2. LED indicator.
- 3. Remote control for the device, for example, a garage door opener.
If necessary, reset previous HomeLink device settings. See CLEARING PROGRAMMING.
To program a HomeLink device:
- With the ignition on, press and release the desired HomeLink button (1) on the rearview mirror. The LED indicator on the rearview mirror (2) will flash amber.
- Place the remote control (3) from the HomeLink button at a distance of 2 to 8 cm.
- Press and hold the button on the remote control. The LED indicator on the rearview mirror will flash or glow solid green. Release the button on the remote control.
NOTES Some remote device systems require the remote control button to be pressed again every 2 seconds during programming. For more information, see USING THE REMOTE CONTROL at the end of the programming instructions.
- Press and release the programmed HomeLink button up to three times to activate the device. If the device activates, programming is complete. If the device does not activate, complete steps 5 through 7.
- Locate the Learn or Smart button on the opener unit, which is located on the garage door opener device's receiver.
NOTES The Learn or Smart button is usually located directly on the opener unit. If in doubt, consult the garage door opener device's operating manual to locate the button.
- Press and release the Learn or Smart button. Step 7 typically requires 30 seconds to complete.
- Return to the vehicle. Press and release the programmed HomeLink button up to three times to activate the device. If the device activates, programming is complete.
USING THE REMOTE CONTROL:
Some remote device systems have a remote control signal that is active for a short period. The signal expires before programming is complete. The remote control button needs to be pressed again every 2 seconds during programming.
If you encounter difficulties while programming the remote device, do the following:
Instead of step 3 during remote device programming, do the following:
- Press and hold the HomeLink button. Simultaneously press and release the remote control button every 2 seconds until the LED indicator flashes or glows solid green. Release the HomeLink button and the remote control button.
- Continue the programming procedure from step 4.
If, after following the listed steps, the HomeLink LED indicator does not flash or glow solid green, contact HomeLink via the website www.homelink.com.

Reprogramming an Individual Garage Door Opener Button
To program a remote device for a previously programmed HomeLink memory button:
- Turn the ignition on.
- Press and hold the desired HomeLink memory button. After approximately 20 seconds, the LED indicator will flash amber.
- Release the button.
- Follow the instructions in step 3 and onwards in the PROGRAMMING section.

Clearing Programming
To reset all HomeLink device settings:
- Turn the ignition on.
- Press and hold the two outer HomeLink buttons until the LED indicator signal on the rearview mirror changes from solid amber to flashing green.
NOTES Do not hold the buttons for more than 20 seconds.
- Release the buttons. The HomeLink remote is initialized, and the previous settings for all three buttons are cleared.

CAUTION! When selling the vehicle, it is recommended to reset all HomeLink device settings.
NOTES Keep the original remote control for subsequent programming.
