Object: Schneider Electric RoHS declaration (RoHS: Restriction of Hazardous Substances)
Dear Customer,
RoHS Directive Overview and Schneider Electric's Commitment
Effective July 1st, 2006, the European Directive 2002/95/EC - "Restriction of Hazardous Substances" (RoHS), its recast 2011/65/EU of June 8th, 2011, and the Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863 of March 31st, 2015, restrict the use in Europe in certain electrical and/or electronic equipment of specific substances. These include lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) flame retardant. Furthermore, from July 22nd, 2019, Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), Dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) are also restricted.
Schneider Electric has made RoHS compliance a priority for its products, extending this commitment even to products that may not legally fall within the RoHS scope. The majority of Schneider Electric products are RoHS compliant, reflecting the company's environmental policy and adherence to the EN IEC 63000:2018 standard.
Product Status and Compliance Information
The information provided in this document reflects the current product status according to regulations in force at the date of its publication. Please note that future changes in product design or updates to the Directive may alter the reported status. For products legally within the scope of RoHS, this document does not serve as a CE declaration; CE declarations can be accessed via the Schneider Electric download center.
In line with Schneider Electric's sustainable development policy, the company continuously strives to develop products and services that minimize environmental and human health impacts during their intended use, as detailed in provided documentation.
A "Pro-active compliance" declaration signifies that the product is either not classified as Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) or is not legally within the scope of the regulation, yet it aligns with the specified substance restrictions and their corresponding exemptions.
