Introduction
Effective July 1st, 2006, the European Directive 2002/95/EC - "Restriction of Hazardous Substances" (RoHS), its recast 2011/65/EU of June 8th, 2011, and the Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863 of March 31st 2015, restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and/or electronic equipment in Europe. These substances include lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) flame retardant, and as of July 22nd 2019, Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), Dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP).
Schneider Electric has made RoHS compliance a priority for its products, aligning with its environmental policy and the EN IEC 63000:2018 standard. This commitment extends to products even if they do not fall within the legal scope of RoHS regulations.
