The Hafele EL9000-TCS Digital Door Lock offers a range of advanced features for convenience and security.
- Four Way Solution: Supports Password, Fingerprint, Smart Card, and Mechanical Key override.

Safety Precautions
Please observe the following safety precautions to ensure proper operation and prevent damage:
- Do not disassemble or alter the lock.
- If the product emits harmful gases or smoke, remove batteries immediately.
- Keep the product away from water and liquids.
- Check batteries every 6 months for leaks and clean terminals.
- Do not clean the product with flammable materials like alcohol or thinners.
- Avoid exposing batteries to heat sources, flames, or submerging them in water.
- Ensure battery electrodes do not contact metal objects like keys.
- Do not close the door with the deadbolt in the locked position.
- Do not force the front cover.
- Do not mix old and new batteries or use different types. Use new alkaline batteries and ensure correct polarity.

Name and Function of Each Part - Front Assembly
The front assembly of the door lock includes the following components:
- Fingerprint Cover: Protects the fingerprint sensor.
- Fingerprint Sensor: Reads fingerprints for authentication.
- Fingerprint Sensor Lamp: Indicates sensor status.
- Battery Replacement Indicator: A red lamp flickers when the battery is low, signaling the need for replacement.
- Status Indicator: Shows the current status of the lock.
- Touch Type Numeric Pad: For entering the secret code.
- Card Key Touch Plate: For touching registered card keys.
- Handle: Used to open the door after successful authentication.
- External Power Supply Terminal: For emergency power using a 9V battery.
- Mechanical Key Override: Allows opening the door with a mechanical key.
Name and Function of Each Part - Back Assembly
The back assembly of the door lock includes the following components:
- Battery Cover: Houses the batteries.
- [10 Key] Button: Used for settings in Normal mode, including code, card, and fingerprint registration/deletion.
- LED Indicator: Shows locking status (e.g., flickering for locked correctly, flickering with alarm for abnormal status).
- Manual Locking Button: Locks the door manually in manual locking mode.
- Fixing Screw: Secures the assembly.
- Battery Compartment: Holds 8 x 1.5V 'AA' size Alkaline batteries.
- [R/C] Button: Used for settings in Safety mode, including code, card, and fingerprint registration/deletion.
- Low Voltage Indicator: A red lamp flickers with a warning sound when the battery needs replacement.
- Double Locking Switch: Engages the double locking mode.
- Handle (Panic Release Type): Allows opening the door at any time by pulling down.
How to Check Battery Capacity / How to Replace Battery
1. Check Battery Capacity
Touch the front pad, press [9], then press [#] to check the indicating lamp for battery status (e.g., 80% Normal, Replace battery soon, Replace battery immediately).
2. Battery Replacement
If the battery lamp is red and flickering with sound, it's time to replace batteries. Open the battery cover by pushing in the direction of the arrow. Replace all 8 batteries with new ones, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
Note: Battery life varies. Use only new, compatible batteries. Check batteries periodically for leaks.
How to Apply External Power in the Emergency
When the battery is exhausted and the lock is not activated, connect a 9V (6LF22) battery to the emergency power terminal. Once activated, open the door using a secret code or card key and then replace the batteries in the back assembly.
How to Use Touch-Pad and Random Security Coding Function
The random security coding function allows you to enter your secret code without revealing it. After touching the front pad, press any random numbers, then enter your actual secret code, followed by [*]. The door can then be opened by pulling the handle.
Note: Do not wear gloves. Ensure the actual secret code is entered last. Use a soft cloth for cleaning.
How to Change Mode (Normal Mode ➔ Safety Mode)
To switch from Normal mode to Safety mode:
- Open the battery cover.
- Press and hold the [R/C] button for 5 seconds (indicated by beeping sounds).
- Enter your current Secret Code (e.g., 123456).
- Press [#].
- Enter the New Manager Code (e.g., 456789).
- Press [#].
- Enter the New Manager Code again for confirmation.
- Press [#] (indicated by beeping sounds).
Note: In Safety mode, existing codes, cards, and fingerprints are deleted upon registering a new manager code. Only one manager code can be registered.
How to Change Mode (Safety Mode ➔ Normal Mode)
To switch from Safety mode to Normal mode:
- Open the battery cover.
- Press and hold the [10Key] button for 5 seconds (indicated by beeping sounds).
- Enter the Manager Code (e.g., 456789).
- Press [#].
- Enter the New Secret Code (e.g., 123456).
- Press [#].
- Enter the New Secret Code again for confirmation.
- Press [#] (indicated by beeping sounds).
Note: After switching to Normal mode, all previously registered codes, cards, and fingerprints are deleted. The new secret code is for Normal mode usage.
How to Register Secret Code in Normal Mode
In Normal Mode, to register a secret code:
- Open the battery cover and press the [10Key] button briefly.
- Enter the new secret code (e.g., 123456).
- Press the [*] button; the code is registered with a sound.
- To register more user codes, enter the new code and press [*] successively. Up to 10 user codes can be registered.
- Complete registration by pressing [*].
Note: Factory setting is Normal mode with secret code 123456. Codes can be 6 to 12 digits. Register codes with the door open to avoid unintentional locking.
How to Register Card Key in Normal Mode
In Normal Mode, to register a card key:
- Open the battery cover and press the [10Key] button briefly.
- Touch the card key to the card contact point.
- Up to 50 user card keys can be registered.
- Complete registration by pressing [*].
How to Delete All Card Key in Normal Mode
To delete all registered card keys in Normal Mode:
- Open the battery cover and press the [10Key] button briefly.
- Press [#].
- Input a registered user code (e.g., 123456).
- Press [#].
- Press [5].
- Press [#] to confirm deletion.
Note: For high security, use Hafele-supplied cards.
How to Register Fingerprint in Normal Mode
In Normal Mode, to register a fingerprint:
- Open the battery cover and press the [10Key] button briefly.
- Touch your finger on the sensor (LED turns on).
- First sensing (LED indicates status).
- Touch your finger on the sensor again.
- Second sensing (LED indicates status).
- Touch your finger on the sensor again.
- Third sensing (LED indicates status).
- Complete registration by pressing [*]. Up to 100 fingerprints can be registered.
How to Register Fingerprint (Fingerprint Cover Out of Order)
If the fingerprint cover is out of order, follow these steps:
- Open the battery cover and press the [10Key] button briefly.
- Press [3].
- Press [#].
- Touch your finger on the sensor (LED turns on).
- First sensing (LED indicates status).
- Touch your finger on the sensor again.
- Second sensing (LED indicates status).
- Touch your finger on the sensor again.
- Third sensing (LED indicates status).
- Complete registration by pressing [*].
Note: Registration requires 3 sensing attempts. New fingerprints do not delete previous ones.
How to Register Secret Code in Safety Mode
In Safety Mode, to register a secret code:
- Open the battery cover and press the [R/C] button briefly.
- Enter the registered manager code (e.g., 456789) or use the manager card.
- Press [#].
- Press [1].
- Press [#].
- Input the new user code (e.g., 123456).
- Press [*] to register.
- To register more user codes, repeat the process. Up to 10 user codes can be registered.
- Press [*] to complete.
Note: Codes can be 6 to 12 digits. Register with the door open.
How to Register Card Key in Safety Mode
In Safety Mode, to register a card key:
- Open the battery cover and press the [R/C] button briefly.
- Enter the manager code (e.g., 456789) or use the manager card.
- Press [#].
- Press [2].
- Press [#].
- Enter the card registration number (2 digits, e.g., 01 to 50).
- Press [#].
- Touch the card key.
- Press [*] to complete. Up to 50 user card keys can be registered.
Note: Previous card data is not deleted. Registration numbers are two digits (01-50).
How to Delete All Card Data in Safety Mode
To delete all card data in Safety Mode:
- Open the battery cover and press the [R/C] button briefly.
- Enter the manager code (e.g., 456789) or use the manager card.
- Press [#].
- Press [5].
- Press [#] to confirm deletion.
How to Delete Individual Card Data in Safety Mode
To delete individual card data in Safety Mode:
- Open the battery cover and press the [R/C] button briefly.
- Enter the manager code (e.g., 456789) or use the manager card.
- Press [#].
- Press [8].
- Press [#].
- Select the card registration number (e.g., 01 to 50).
- Press [#].
- Press [*] to confirm deletion.
Note: You must know the exact registration number of the card to delete.
How to Register Fingerprint in Safety Mode
In Safety Mode, to register a fingerprint:
- Open the battery cover and press the [R/C] button briefly.
- Enter the manager code (e.g., 456789) or use the manager card.
- Press [#].
- Press [3].
- Press [#].
- Select the fingerprint registration number (3 digits, e.g., 001 to 100).
- Press [#].
- Touch your finger on the sensor (LED turns on).
- First sensing (LED indicates status).
- Touch your finger on the sensor again.
- Second sensing (LED indicates status).
- Touch your finger on the sensor again.
- Third sensing (LED indicates status).

How to Delete All Fingerprint Data in Safety Mode
To delete all fingerprint data in Safety Mode:
- Open the battery cover and press the [R/C] button briefly.
- Enter the manager code (e.g., 456789) or use the manager card.
- Press [#].
- Press [6].
- Press [#] to confirm deletion.
How to Delete Individual Fingerprint in Safety Mode
To delete individual fingerprint data in Safety Mode:
- Open the battery cover and press the [R/C] button briefly.
- Enter the manager code (e.g., 456789) or use the manager card.
- Press [#].
- Press [9].
- Press [#].
- Select the fingerprint registration number (3 digits, e.g., 001 to 100).
- Press [#] to confirm deletion.
Note: You must know the exact registration number of the fingerprint to delete.
Guest Secret Code (Temporary Use)
The guest secret code is for temporary use and is deleted after the guest opens the door. It is only available in Safety mode.
- Touch the front pad.
- Press [#].
- Input the manager password or touch the manager card.
- Press [#].
- Press [9].
- Input the guest secret code (6-12 digits).
- Press [#].
Note: Random security coding function is not available for guest codes.
Change Manager Code in Safety Mode
To change the manager code in Safety Mode:
- Open the battery cover and press the [R/C] button briefly.
- Enter the current manager code (e.g., 456789).
- Press [#].
- Press [0].
- Press [#].
- Input the new manager code (e.g., 567890).
- Press [#].
- Input the new manager code again for confirmation.
- Press [#].
Note: Only one manager code is available. It can be 6 to 12 digits.
Change Manager Card in Safety Mode
To change the manager card in Safety Mode:
- Open the battery cover and press the [R/C] button briefly.
- Enter the manager code (e.g., 456789).
- Press [#].
- Press [1].
- Touch the new manager card. Up to 3 master cards can be registered.
- Press [*] to complete.
Note: Previous manager cards are deleted automatically. Register up to 3 cards successively.
Basic Function: How to Open from Outdoor
1. Open the Door Using Secret Code
Touch the front pad, enter the secret code (e.g., 123456), and press [*]. The door will unlock.
2. Open the Door Using Card Key
Touch the registered card key to the card contact point, then pull down the handle to open the door.
3. Open the Door Using Fingerprint
Open the fingerprint cover, touch the registered fingerprint on the sensor, then pull down the handle to open the door.
4. Open the Door with Mute Function (No Sound)
Press the front pad with your fingertip for 3 seconds. The numeric pad will light up. Enter the secret code (e.g., 123456), then press [*]. The door will unlock without sound. Alternatively, touch the card or fingerprint.
Note: Mute mode lasts for 10 seconds. If the door is not opened, an alarm may sound.
Basic Function: How to Lock the Door from Outdoor
1. Lock the Door at Auto-locking Mode
When the door is closed, it locks automatically with a beeping sound. Ensure the door is closed correctly.
2. Lock Door at Manual-locking Mode
Close the door and touch the front pad. Press the [O] button; the door will be locked. In manual-locking mode, the door does not lock automatically.
Note: Confirm the door is properly closed by pulling down the handle.
Basic Function: How to Open from Indoor
Panic Release Type: Simply pull down the handle to open the door at any time. This allows for easy escape in emergencies.
Basic Function: How to Lock the Door from Indoor
1. In Auto-locking Mode
When the door is closed, it locks automatically with a beep sound. A flickering blue lamp indicates proper locking.
2. Manual-locking Mode
After closing the door, press the manual lock button; the door is locked with a beep sound. A flickering blue lamp indicates proper locking.
Note: Ensure the deadbolt is not extended before closing the door. Confirm the door closing status.
Applications: How to Set Double Locking Function
In [Double lock] mode, the unlocking function from the outside is suspended. The indicator light is RED. Normal operation (unlocking from outside) is possible when the indicator light is GREEN.
Note: Double locking should be engaged after the door is closed. It can be released from the inside by pulling the handle. Intrusion warning functions remain active.
Applications: Auto-locking System
When the door is closed, it will be locked automatically.
Applications: Auto-relocking System
If the door is not opened within 7 seconds after entering a secret code, it will be relocked automatically to protect user's property.
Applications: How to Set Auto/Manual Locking System
Auto-locking Mode: The door locks automatically after closing.
Manual-locking Mode: The door locks by pressing the manual lock button after closing.
To set:
- Touch the front pad, press [#] button.
- Input secret code (e.g., 123456) or touch the card key.
- Press [#] button.
- Select [Auto-locking] mode or [Manual-locking] mode.
Note: After setting, pull down the handle and close the door. In Manual lock mode, the door can be unlocked by secret code, card key, or indoor handle.
Applications: How to Control Volume Level
Volume can be controlled in 8 levels (Mute to maximum).
- Touch the front pad, press [#] button.
- Input secret code (e.g., 123456) or touch the card key.
- Press [#] button.
- Press [2] to decrease volume or [3] to increase volume.
- Press [1] for maximum level and [0] for mute.
Note: In mute status, the numeric lamp flickers. After setting, pull down the handle and close the door.
Applications: Warning Function Against Mischief or Hacking
The alarm system is activated with a warning sound and suspends all lock functions for 3 minutes under the following conditions:
- Applying wrong secret code over 3 times.
- Applying unregistered card key over 3 times.
- Applying unregistered fingerprint over 5 times.
- Operating fingerprint sensor over 10 times with no fingerprint sensing.
Note: Warning status can be released by the [Manual lock] button.
Applications: Warning Alarm Function Against Trespassing by Force
If there is any attempt of trespassing by force, a strong alarm sound is activated for 3 minutes.
How to Release Warning Sound:
- Touch the smart card or fingerprint.
- Input secret code (e.g., 123456).
- Press [*] again to stop the warning sound.
Note: Trespass warning alarm continues for 3 minutes. Releasing it via secret code or card key returns the system to normal status.
Applications: System Reset
To perform a system reset:
- Open the battery cover.
- Remove batteries.
- Press the open button to discharge entirely.
- Pressing both the [10Key] and [R/C] buttons, insert batteries one by one.
- Input manager code or touch manager card.
- Press the [#] button for 5 seconds. System reset is completed.
Note: After reset, all secret codes, cards, and fingerprints are deleted. New ones must be registered.

How to Install-1 (Mortise Lock)
Note: Installation method is the same for left-handed and right-handed doors. Adjust the latch bolt and striker direction according to the door opening direction.
Mortise Lock Installation
Insert the mortise body into the mortise hole on the door side and fix it with screws. Pull out the mortise cable to the indoor side.
How to Change the Direction of Latch Bolt
- Insert a pin into the hole and push it.
- Change the direction of the latch bolt and press it into the mortise body.
How to Install Handle Shaft
- Insert the handle shaft from the indoor side to the outdoor side.
- Fix the stop ring in the hole on the outer part of the handle shaft.
How to Install Striker
- Insert the striker housing and set the curved part of the striker towards the door opening direction.
- Fix it with screws.
Operating System of Mortise Lock [Clutch Type]
When the handle is pulled down, the clutch operates mechanically. When the door is locked, the outdoor handle is not connected to the deadbolt, enhancing security. When unlocked, the handle is connected to the deadbolt.
Beneficial Points
- High security level: Outer handle is not connected to the deadbolt when locked.
- Durability: Long lifespan as the deadbolt does not operate by a motor system.
- Easy installation: Latch bolt direction can be changed after installation.
How to Install-2 (Product)
Check Point Before Install
After completing "How to install-1 (Mortise lock)", proceed with "How to install-2 (Product)".
- Insert the handle shaft into the "handle shaft hole" of the installation template and stick the template to the indoor side. Fold the template along the folding line.
- Fix the exact position of the template and mark the drilling position for hole marking. Mark the drilling position on the opposite side similarly.
- Make holes as per specification (Ø32).
- Set the direction of the handle on the front cabinet. Pull down the handle until it clicks into place.
- To reset the handle direction, press the handle direction changing lever located inside the cabinet.
- Connect two cables to the PCB correctly and fix the back cabinet with screws. Set the direction of the handle of the back cabinet.
Check Proper Operation of Product
Pull out the cable from the front cabinet and mortise lock cable through the hole of the back cover. Fix the back cover to the front cabinet using screws.
Check Point After Installation
Insert batteries correctly and perform an open/close test from the indoor side. If the door is not closed correctly after installation, it may be impossible to open from the outdoor side. Register the secret code as per the user manual.
