Sonoff Pow User Guide

Welcome to Sonoff Pow! The Sonoff Pow is designed to monitor connected devices' real-time power, measure power usage over a specified period, and check daily/monthly power consumption. It supports 90~250V AC input, with a maximum current of 16A and a maximum power of 3500W.

1. Download "eWeLink" app

To get started, download the "eWeLink" application. Search for "eWeLink" in the App Store for iOS devices or Google Play for Android devices.

  2. Pairing Mode

Press and hold the button for 7 seconds until the green LED blinks 3 times and then stays on repeatedly. This indicates the device is in pairing mode.

  3. Search Device via App

Open the eWeLink app and tap the [+] icon to search for the device. For Android users, select the first icon and click 'next'. For iOS users, you will see two pairing method icons; select the corresponding icon and click 'next'. The app will then auto-search for the device.

[Visual Description: A Wi-Fi symbol ? is displayed, representing the network search.]

  4. Input Wi-Fi Credentials

Enter your home Wi-Fi SSID and password. If your Wi-Fi network does not have a password, leave the field blank.

Important: eWeLink currently only supports the 2.4G WiFi communication protocol. 5G-WiFi is not supported.

[Visual Description: A progress bar is shown with the text "It takes 3 minutes, please wait..." and "Searching device..."]

  5. Device Registration

The device will be registered by eWeLink and added to your account. This process typically takes 1-3 minutes.

  6. Name Your Device

Complete the setup by naming your device.

  7. Check Device Status

The device may appear "Offline" on eWeLink for up to a minute while it connects to your router and the server. Once the green LED is solid, the device is "Online". If it remains "Offline", try closing and reopening the eWeLink app.

4. APP Features

  1. Remote ON/OFF

Control your connected device by tapping its icon in the app. The device status and real-time power consumption are displayed on the interface.

[Visual Description: The Sonoff Pow app interface is shown. It displays "Sonoff Pow", "Manufacturer: Maker", "Model: Sonoff Pow". A large circular button with a power symbol is visible, labeled "Current power: 30W". Two numbered buttons, '1' and '2', are also shown.]

Tap button '2' to view your device's daily and monthly power usage statistics.

  4. Share Control

[Visual Description: A share icon ? is displayed.]

The owner can share device control with other eWeLink accounts. Both the owner and the invited user must be online on eWeLink for the invitation to be received. To share, click "Share", enter the eWeLink account (phone number or email address) of the person you wish to share with, and select the desired timer permissions (edit/delete/change/enable). Click "Next". The invited account will receive an invitation message. Upon accepting, the device will be successfully shared, granting the other user access to control it.

  5. Timing

[Visual Description: An alarm clock icon ⏰ is displayed.]

You can set up to 8 enabled single, repeat, or countdown timing schedules for each device. These preset timers can function even when the network is unavailable, provided the device remains powered on.

  6. Scene/Smart Scene

Scenes allow you to automatically trigger the ON/OFF state of your devices. Scene settings are located in the upper right corner of the Device List. You can create custom scenes or smart scenes to control your Sonoff Pow.

Users should select "Click to execute" within the condition, add different existing devices, name the scene, and save it.

  7. Security Mechanism

One device is linked to one owner. Other users cannot add devices that have already been added to an account.

  8. Update

The device will automatically remind you of new firmware or version updates. Please update as soon as possible to benefit from the latest features and improvements.

5. Problems and Solutions

If the following answers do not resolve your issue, please submit feedback via the eWeLink app.

  1. My device has added successfully but stays "Offline".

Answer: The newly added device requires 1-2 minutes to connect to your router and the internet. If it remains offline for an extended period, check the green LED status:

    • 1.1. Green LED quickly blinks once and repeats: The device failed to connect to the router. This could be due to an incorrect Wi-Fi password, the device being too far from the router causing a weak signal, or attempting to connect to a 5G-WiFi network (only 2.4G-WiFi is supported). Ensure your router is MAC-open.
    • 1.2. Green LED slowly blinks once and repeats: The device connected to the router and server but failed to be added to the device list. Power cycle the device, and if the issue persists, try adding it again.
    • 1.3. Green LED quickly blinks twice and repeats: The device connected to the router but failed to connect to the server. Verify that your Wi-Fi router is functioning normally.
  2. Why can't the APP find the device during pairing?

Answer: This is often due to your phone's cache. Try closing your phone's WLAN, waiting a minute, and then reopening it. Simultaneously, power off the Sonoff Pow device if possible, then power it back on and attempt pairing again.

  3. My WiFi is expired, can I connect the devices to LAN?

Answer: Currently, this product does not support LAN connections or connecting to a hotspot. It must connect to a Wi-Fi router.

  4. The green LED stays off, even when the device is powered on, and the device does not work.

Answer: The circuit may be broken. Please send the device back for testing. Return shipping postage and packaging costs will be at the buyer's expense. If the device is damaged by the buyer, they will also bear the extra repair cost.
