The Sonoff Pow R2 supports real-time monitoring of power, current, and voltage for connected devices. It allows users to measure power usage over specific periods, set threshold values for overload protection, and track daily/monthly power consumption. It accepts 90-250V AC input, with a maximum current of 15A and a maximum power of 3500W.
Getting Started
-
Download the "eWeLink" App
Search for "eWeLink" in the Apple App Store for iOS devices or Google Play Store for Android devices and download the application.
The app interface shows options for both iOS and Android platforms, guiding users to the respective app stores.

Wiring Instruction
Ensure you have read and follow the L (Live), N (Neutral), and E (Ground) markings on the enclosure. The wiring layout may differ from older versions.
Diagram Description: The Sonoff Pow R2 connects between the power source (90-250V AC) and the appliance. The Live (L) wire from the power source connects to the 'L' input terminal on the device. The Neutral (N) wire connects to the 'N' input terminal, and the Ground (E) wire connects to the 'E' input terminal. The appliance's Live wire connects to the 'L' output terminal on the device, its Neutral wire connects to the 'N' output terminal, and its Ground wire connects to the 'E' output terminal.

Add Device
- Power Up: Connect the device to the power source.
- Pairing Mode: Press and hold the button on the device for 7 seconds until the green LED blinks rapidly (e.g., three times in quick succession).
- Initiate Pairing in App: Open the eWeLink app, tap the "[plus icon]" (Add Device icon), and select "Quick Pairing Mode (TOUCH)". Then, tap "Next".
- Network Configuration: The app will automatically search for the device. You will be prompted to input your home WiFi SSID and password.
- If your WiFi network does not have a password, leave the field blank.
- Note: The eWeLink app currently supports only 2.4GHz WiFi communication protocols. 5GHz WiFi is not supported.
- Device Registration: The device will be registered by eWeLink and added to your account. This process typically takes 1-3 minutes. A progress indicator may be shown during this time.
- Name Device: Once registration is complete, name your device to finish the setup.
Connection Status: It may take up to 1 minute for the device to connect to your router and the server. When the green LED is on, the device is "Online". If the eWeLink app still shows "Offline", try closing and reopening the app.
App Features
-
WiFi Remote Control and Device State
Turn connected appliances on or off by tapping the device icon in the app. The device's current state (on/off) is always displayed simultaneously in the app.
-
View Real-time Power, Current, and Voltage
Navigate to the device control interface within the app to view the real-time power (in Watts), current (in Amperes), and voltage (in Volts) of the appliance connected to the Sonoff Pow R2.
App Interface Description: The app screen displays readings for POWER (W), CURRENT (A), and VOLTAGE (V). Below these readings are icons for various functions: Statistics, OPS (Overload Protection System), Download, Share, Schedule, and Timer.
-
Calculate Energy Consumption for a Specified Period
Tap the "[statistics icon]" (Statistics) to access energy consumption features. You can tap "START" to begin measuring the energy consumed by the connected appliance. Tap "END" to stop the measurement and view the total consumption for that period.
-
View Daily and Monthly Energy Consumption and Total Cost
Tap the Statistics icon (indicated by a red arrow pointing to it in the original documentation) to view up to 100 days of energy consumption data. You can see daily and monthly energy consumption graphs and associated costs. To change the cost unit price, navigate to the device control interface and then to "Device Settings".
-
OPS (Overload Protection System)
Access the overload protection system by tapping the "[overload protection icon]" (OPS). Here, you can set threshold values for real-time minimum power, real-time maximum power, current, and voltage. If the connected appliance's usage exceeds these set thresholds, the Sonoff Pow R2 will automatically turn off the appliance to prevent overload.
The system includes options to set thresholds via checkboxes for:
- Real-time Min. Threshold Power (W)
- Real-time Max. Threshold Power (W)
- Current Threshold (A)
- Voltage Threshold (V)
-
Download Energy Consumption History
Tap the "[download icon]" (Download) to instantly download your energy consumption history to your phone.
Note: The iOS system may not be able to download energy consumption data due to file management system limitations. The Android system can perform this function. -
Share Control
The device owner can share control of the Sonoff Pow R2 with other eWeLink accounts. Both the owner and the recipient must be online on eWeLink for the sharing invitation to be received. To share, tap the "[share icon]" (Share), input the recipient's eWeLink account (phone number or email address), select the desired permissions (edit/delete/change/enable), and tap "Next". The recipient will receive an invitation message. Upon accepting, the device will be successfully shared, granting the other user access to control it.
-
Timing
The device supports up to 8 enabled single, repeat, or countdown timing tasks per device.
-
Scene/Smart Scene
Scenes allow for automatic triggering of on/off actions for your devices. Only the device owner can create scenes; scenes cannot be shared. Scene settings are located in the upper right corner of the Device List. You can set up scenes or smart scenes to trigger the device on or off.
To create a scene, select "Click to execute" as the condition, add different existing devices, name the scene, and save it.
-
Security Mechanism
Each device is linked to one owner. Other users cannot add a device that has already been added to an account. If you wish to add your device to another account, you must first delete it from the current account.
