SONOFF TH10/TH16 User Guide

Introduction

Welcome to the SONOFF TH10/TH16! This device allows you to monitor real-time temperature and humidity through the eWeLink app. It is available in two power supply specifications: 10A or 16A. The SONOFF TH10/TH16 supports presetting temperature or humidity ranges to automatically turn connected devices on or off, and also features Smart Scene capabilities.

1. Download eWeLink App

Search for "eWeLink" in the App Store for the iOS version or Google Play for the Android version.

2. Wiring Instruction

There are two device specifications to choose from: 10A or 16A. Please ensure you read and follow the L (Live), N (Neutral), and E (Earth/Ground) markings printed on the enclosure. Note that the new version of the device has a different layout compared to older versions.

Diagram Description: A wiring diagram illustrating the connection of the SONOFF TH10/TH16 device. It shows the device connected to a power plug (rated 90V~250V) and an appliance (depicted as a small heater). The diagram details the connections for Live (L), Neutral (N), and Ground (G/E) wires from the power source to the device, and from the device to the appliance. A sensor (AM2301/DS18B20) is shown plugged into the device.

3. Add Device

  1. Plug your sensor into the designated jack and power up your device.
  2. Press and hold the button for 7 seconds until the green LED blinks rapidly (specifically, it blinks three times and then stays on repeatedly). [?]
  3. Click the "Add" icon [➕] on the eWeLink app to initiate a search for the device.
  4. For Android users, select the first pairing icon and proceed by clicking "Next". For iOS users, you will see two pairing method icons; select the corresponding icon and click "Next". The eWeLink app will then automatically search for the device.
  5. Enter your home Wi-Fi SSID and password. If your Wi-Fi network does not have a password, leave this field blank. Please note that eWeLink currently only supports the 2.4G Wi-Fi communication protocol; 5G Wi-Fi is not supported.
  6. The device will be registered by eWeLink and added to your account. This process typically takes 1-3 minutes.
  7. Name your device to complete the setup process.
  8. If your device appears as "Offline" in the eWeLink app, it may require up to 1 minute to establish a connection with your router and the server. The device is considered "Online" when the green LED is solid. If the device remains "Offline", try restarting the eWeLink app.

4. APP Features

4.1. WiFi Remote Control and Device State

You can control your devices on/off by tapping the device icon within the app. If you are using the Sonoff TH with a temperature and humidity sensor, the device status, along with real-time temperature and humidity values, will be displayed simultaneously on the interface.

Auto Mode: In Auto mode, you can set a specific temperature or humidity range, and the device will automatically turn the connected appliance on or off based on these conditions.

Manual Mode: In Manual mode, you can tap the device icon to manually turn the connected appliance on or off at any time.

4.2. Share Control

The owner can share their devices with other eWeLink accounts. For the sharing process to be successful, both the owner and the recipient must be online on eWeLink. If the recipient's account is not online, they will not receive the invitation message.

To share a device: Click "Share", input the eWeLink account (phone number or email address) you wish to share with, select the desired timer permissions (edit, delete, change, enable), and then click "Next". The other account will receive an invitation message. Upon clicking "Accept", the device will be successfully shared, and the other user will gain access to control it. [?]

4.3. Timing

The device supports a maximum of 8 enabled timing schedules, which can be set as single, repeat, or countdown timers for each device. [⏰]

4.4. Security Mechanism

Each device is assigned to a single owner. Other users cannot add devices that have already been added to an account. If you intend to add your device to another account, remember to delete it from the current account first.

4.5. Auto mode and Manual mode

5.1 In Auto mode, the switch cannot be turned ON/OFF manually using the physical button on the device.

5.2 In Manual mode, the switch can be turned ON/OFF at any time via the physical button.

5.3 The preset timers can function as usual in Auto mode.

4.6. Sensor Integration

6.1 Insert Sensor: When a sensor is inserted, the app will display temperature and humidity values, and you can configure Auto mode settings.

6.2 Without Sensor: If no sensor is connected, the app will not display temperature and humidity values, and the Auto mode functionality will not be available.

4.7. Smart Scene

You can utilize the Sonoff TH to collect temperature values and establish conditions to automatically turn on/off various other switches (such as other Sonoff devices or Sonoff RF). Note: For Smart Scenes to function correctly, the Sonoff TH should be in manual mode, not auto mode. When the real-time temperature crosses the preset temperature range, the specified condition will be triggered.

Diagram Description: A screenshot of the "Add new scene" interface within the eWeLink app. It shows fields for naming the scene, setting trigger conditions (e.g., "When it meets: Sonoff TH10", "Temperature ≥27"), and defining actions (e.g., "Execute: OpenSonoff"). Buttons for "SAVE" and "DELETE" are also visible.

5. Update

The device will automatically remind you of new firmware or version updates. Please update as soon as possible to benefit from the latest features.

6. Problems and Solutions

For detailed frequently asked questions (FAQ), please refer to the Itead Smart Home Forum. If the answers provided below do not resolve your problem, please submit feedback through the eWeLink platform.

1. My device has been added successfully but stays "Offline".

Answer: The newly added device requires approximately 1-2 minutes to connect to your router and the internet. However, if it remains offline for a prolonged period, please diagnose the issue based on the green LED status:

  • 1.1. Green LED quickly blinks one time and repeats: This indicates the device failed to connect to the router. Potential reasons include an incorrect Wi-Fi password entry or the device being too far from the router, resulting in a weak Wi-Fi signal. The device is not compatible with 5G Wi-Fi routers; only 2.4G Wi-Fi is supported. Ensure your router's MAC address filtering is enabled (open).
  • 1.2. Green LED slowly blinks one time and repeats: This signifies that the device has connected to the router and server but failed to be added to the device list. Power cycle the device again. If the issue persists, try adding the device once more.
  • 1.3. Green LED quickly blinks twice and repeats: This means the device has successfully connected to the router but failed to connect to the server. Please verify that your Wi-Fi router is functioning normally.

2. Why can't the APP find the device in pairing status?

Answer: This issue might be caused by your phone's cache. Please close your phone's WLAN connection, wait for about a minute, and then re-enable it. Simultaneously, power off the Sonoff device if possible, and then power it back on to attempt pairing again.

3. My WiFi is expired, can I connect the devices to LAN?

Answer: Currently, this product does not support LAN connection or connecting to a hotspot. It must connect to a Wi-Fi router.
