What You Should Know Before You Begin

Please refer to the Installation, Care & Use manual packaged with your hot water tank for additional Important Safety Information.

This particular unit is not intended for commercial use.

System Requirements (Hot Water Tank, Filtration System, and Tap)

• Ensure all electrical wiring and connections conform to local codes.
• A standard, earthed (grounded) electrical outlet is required under the sink for the dispenser's power. The wall outlet powering your hot water tank must have continuous power.
• This outlet must be fused and not controlled by the same wall switch as the disposer, unless you have an InSinkErator® SinkTop Switch™.
• It is recommended that a dedicated control valve be installed on the cold water line supplying water to this system.
• Water filter use should NOT result in water pressure dropping below 30 psi (207kPa).
• When mounting tank and filter, use provided screws for wood studs or cabinets only. Use wall anchors (not supplied) for plasterboard installation.
• If you suspect elevated chlorine levels or rusty water before installation, use of our water filtration system is recommended.
• This product contains stainless steel. The manufacturer cannot guarantee against rusty water due to external factors. However, sudden rusty water discharge may indicate a need for service or replacement.
• Moving parts inside the tank causing a rattling noise is normal.

What You Need to Get Started

Equipment You May Need:

If you intend to use the sprayer hole in your sink for your dispenser, you may need a basin wrench and a 1/8" (3 mm) plug or a 1/4" (6 mm) cap (not supplied) for the faucet spray hose line.

If you need to cut a mounting hole in your stainless steel sink, you may need a 1-1/4" - 1-1/2" (3.2 cm - 3.8 cm) hole saw made for cutting stainless steel or a hole punch. Consult a professional if you are drilling into a surface other than stainless steel.

Step 1: Diagram 1 shows the InSinkErator Instant Hot Water Dispenser faucet. It illustrates the main spout, the handle for dispensing water, and various connection points for water lines. Key components are labeled with numbers corresponding to the parts list.

Step 2: Diagram 2 shows the required minimum distance from the center of the hole to the wall (1-1/8" or 25 mm for all listed models) and the required hole size for mounting the dispenser (1-1/4" to 1-1/2" or 32 mm to 38 mm). It also notes that the required distance may depend on the model.

Step 3: Diagram 3 shows the Hot Water Tank (11) and Filter Head and Cartridge (12). The tank is a cylindrical unit, and the filter head attaches to it, with the cartridge fitting into the head. Screws (13) are shown for mounting.

Step 4 (Hot Models Only): This step is for HOT models only; COOL models should skip to Step 9. It shows connecting water inlet tubes (4) to the dispenser faucet.

Step 5: Diagram 5 illustrates drilling a hole in the sink or countertop using a hole saw. It includes a notice about property damage, advising not to pinch or break copper tubing and not to distort the last 1" (25 mm) of tubing.

Step 17: Diagram 17 shows checking all connections to ensure they are tight and leak-free. It includes a note to check all connections.

Step 18: Diagram 18 illustrates the final connection of the water lines to the dispenser faucet. It shows the temperature range indicator (up to 210°F / 98°C) and emphasizes the need for water to reach the target temperature over 12-15 minutes, noting that gurgling or hissing is normal during the initial heating cycle. It also includes a warning about scalding hazard.

Troubleshooting

Care and Use

⚠️ CAUTION: Electric Shock Hazard

To prevent electrical shock, disconnect power before servicing unit. Use only a properly earthed and polarised electric outlet.

ℹ️ NOTICE

• Regularly inspect the unit for any signs of leakage. If there are signs of water damage, immediately remove the unit from service.
• A drainage pan, plumbed to an appropriate drain or outfitted with a leak detector, should be used in those applications where any leakage could cause property damage.

Cleaning the Instant Hot Water Dispenser

• Use only mild cleaners to clean the instant hot water dispenser and plastic components.
• Cleaners with acids, abrasives, alkaline or organic solvents will result in deterioration of the plastic components and void the warranty.

⚠️ CAUTION: PERSONAL INJURY

• Regularly check for signs of corrosion by examining the appearance of the dispensed water.
• If the water discolouration remains after draining and refilling the unit, discontinue use and contact an authorised InSinkErator service agent.

5-Year In-Home Full Service Limited Warranty

This limited warranty is provided by InSinkErator, a business unit of Emerson Electric Co., to the original consumer owner of the InSinkErator product and any subsequent owner of the residence. InSinkErator warrants the product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the Warranty Period, commencing on the later of the installation date, purchase date, or date of manufacture. Proof of purchase or installation date is required.

What is Covered: Defects in materials or workmanship for residential use only, including replacement parts and labor costs. The sole remedy is repair or replacement of the product, or a refund/credit at InSinkErator's discretion.

What is Not Covered: Losses or damages due to accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, neglect, failure to install/maintain according to instructions or codes, normal wear and tear (cosmetic rust, scratches, dents), or damages caused by other products used with the dispenser. Warranty void if installed in a commercial or industrial application.

What InSinkErator Will Do: If a covered claim is made during the Warranty Period, InSinkErator will repair or replace the product at no cost to the customer. Services will be provided at the customer's home. The warranty on a replacement product is limited to the unexpired term of the original warranty.

Limitation of Liability: In no event shall Manufacturer or its authorized service representatives be liable for any incidental, special, indirect, or consequential damages, including economic loss. Manufacturer's liability shall not exceed the price paid by the original owner for the product.

This warranty is void if the product is tampered with or attempted to be repaired by unauthorized personnel.
