How to Replace the Filter
Regular filter replacement is essential for product performance. Replace the cartridge every 6 months, or when water flow decreases or taste/odor returns. Use only InSinkErator® brand filter cartridges. This filter is compatible with F-1000S, F-2000S, and F-3000S systems.
Preparation
Place a pan or towel under the filter to catch any water drainage during the cartridge change. Ensure the filter is in a vertical position with the head at the top.
Step-by-Step Replacement
- Turn the cartridge approximately 90° (1/4 turn) in the removal direction until it stops. This closes the inlet/outlet ports and relieves internal pressure.
- Approximately 2 oz (60 ml) of water will discharge from the vent line. Pull the used cartridge straight out and discard it according to local regulations.
- With the "InSinkErator Instant Hot Water dispenser filter" wording on the new filter label facing left, insert the new cartridge into the filter head. The top surface of the cartridge should align flush with the bottom of the filter head when fully engaged.
- Turn the cartridge approximately 90° (1/4 turn) in the installation direction until it stops, ensuring the "InSinkErator Instant Hot Water dispenser filter" wording faces forward. If the new cartridge is difficult to insert, re-insert the old one, turn it fully, and then try the new cartridge again.
- Flush the new filter: Open the hot water faucet to expel trapped air. Flush 3 gallons (approximately 11.4 liters) through the filter before use, which takes about 4 minutes.
- Mark your calendar: Replace cartridges every 6 months. Write the future replacement date on the label and place it on the new cartridge or a convenient location.
- For convenience and savings, scan the QR code (mentioned in original document) to sign up for replacement reminders or a filter subscription service.
Important Warnings and Notices
Safety Warnings
- Read and follow the manual to reduce the risk of personal injury or property damage.
- Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection. Systems certified for cyst reduction may be used on disinfected water that may contain filterable cysts. (EPA Establishment #070595-CT-001)
- To reduce the risk associated with choking: DO NOT allow children under 3 years of age to have access to small parts during installation.
Property Damage Prevention
- Replace the filter every six months, or sooner if the water flow rate slows. Failure to replace the cartridge at recommended intervals can lead to reduced performance, filter failure, and property damage from water leakage or flooding.
- Protect from freezing: Remove the filter cartridge when ambient temperatures are expected to drop below 40°F (4.4°C).
