CHARGING CONNECTOR AC01+
TYPE 2 TO SCHUKO 16A
The METRON charging connector AC01+ is designed to enable charging electric devices such as electric bicycles and scooters using normal Schuko (Type F) 16A plugs from EV charging stations equipped with Type 2 (IEC 62196) sockets. It communicates essential signals, "car connected" and "car ready to charge," to the charging station, thereby facilitating charging via the connector's Schuko outlet.
Visual Description: The METRON AC01+ charging connector is depicted. It features a Type 2 plug on one end and a Schuko socket on the other. Two switches, labeled A and B, are visible on the connector body.
GET STARTED
- Plug the charging connector into the charging station's Type 2 socket.
- Turn on Switch (A). This action signals "car connected" to the charging station and, if supported, locks the connector.
- Turn on Switch (B). This immediately signals "car ready to charge" to the charging station.
- The charging station will then energize its relays and contactors, providing voltage and power to the connector's Schuko outlet.
To stop charging, reverse the procedure: first turn off Switch (B), then Switch (A). This de-energizes the connector, unlocks it from the charging station socket, and allows for removal. Note that some charging stations may initiate charging automatically when both switches are in the "ON" position upon connection.
WIFI METRON CONNECTOR CONTROL APPLICATION
The AC01+ charging connector includes a built-in WiFi access point with an integrated web server. This allows users to connect wirelessly using any smartphone, tablet, or laptop PC. The preloaded METRON Connector Control application runs directly in your web browser, eliminating the need for additional software installation. It is compatible with popular web browsers across various operating systems, including Android, iOS, Windows, HarmonyOS, and Linux.
Application Functions:
- Users can lock the AC01+ to the charging station socket to prevent theft or unintentional charging interruptions.
- Provides real-time information on charging current, power, energy consumed, and charging duration.
- Enables users to change the WiFi password and network name (SSID).
- Access to a complete AC01+ User Manual is also available.
Connecting via WiFi:
- Insert the AC01+ charging connector into the charging station socket and energize it as described in the "GET STARTED" section.
- On your smartphone, tablet, or laptop PC, navigate to the WiFi settings and search for available networks.
- Find and connect to the network named "METRON-AC01+". The default WiFi password is "12345678" (changing this in the application is recommended).
- Scan the QR code found on the AC01+ or open your web browser and go to the IP address 192.168.4.4. The METRON Connector Control application will load automatically.
Up to five devices can be wirelessly connected to the AC01+ charging connector simultaneously. All connected devices receive the latest data updates; for instance, if one user locks the AC01+, all other users will see this status reflected on their screens.
Visual Description: A smartphone screen displays the METRON Connector Control application. It shows 'AC01+ lock control' with a '? LOCKED' status and an '[unlock]' button. Below, charging information is displayed: Current 7.9 A, Power 1807 W, Energy 2.851 kWh, and Charging time 1:34. Links for 'WiFi settings' and 'AC01+ user manual' are also visible.
WiFi Password Reset
If you forget your set WiFi password, follow these steps:
- Insert the AC01+ into the charging station socket and energize it as per the "GET STARTED" chapter.
- Locate a small hole between Switch (A) and Switch (B). Inside this hole is a "WiFi reset button." Insert a thin object, like a needle, into the hole and press the button for at least one second. This resets the WiFi name (SSID) to the default "METRON-AC01+" and the forgotten password to the default "12345678." This action also reactivates theft protection.
- To activate the default WiFi password and name, stop charging and then restart charging as described in the "GET STARTED" chapter.

Schuko socket overtemperature protection function description
The AC01+ connector features a high-quality Schuko socket designed to prevent overheating during continuous operation at 16A. However, if a low-quality Schuko plug is used, it may dissipate significant heat. The connector's temperature sensor detects this excess heat. If the temperature exceeds the allowed limit, the connector signals the charging station to disconnect power. Once cooled, it automatically signals the station to reapply power. This cycle may repeat if the issue persists.
Please note: The connector is not compatible with charging stations that have an integrated Type 2 charging cable.
⚠️ Never draw more than 16A from the charging connector!
