Water Resistance
General Precautions:
- Do not press buttons underwater.
- Do not change hands underwater.
- Do not unscrew the crown underwater.
- If exposed to saltwater, rinse the watch thoroughly with fresh water and dry it completely.
- Avoid wearing watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Water Resistance Classification: Watches are classified by water resistance levels (I to V) according to their protection against water.
Level | Case Marking | Splash, Rain | Washing, Dishwashing | Swimming, Snorkeling | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | Yes | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes on Water Resistance:
- Level I: Not water-resistant. Avoid any moisture.
- Level II: WR (Water Resistant) indicates the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
- Level III: With 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance, the watch can withstand water pressure corresponding to that depth and can be used during showers and brief swimming.
- Level IV: 10 Bar (100 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used during regular swimming and snorkeling.
- Level V: 20 Bar (200 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Condensation: Minor condensation on the inside of the glass may occur under conditions of rapid temperature changes. This is a normal physical phenomenon and not a defect.

Crown Operation and Time/Date Setting
Your watch may differ slightly from the illustrations in this manual.
Screw-Lock Crown: Some water-resistant models are equipped with a screw-lock crown. To pull out the crown, first unlock it by turning it in the indicated direction. Do not apply excessive force. This may cause damage. The watch is not water-resistant when the crown is pulled out. Always return the crown to its original position and lock it after performing any operations.
Setting the Current Time:
- General Procedure: Pull out the crown. Turn it to set the hands to the correct time. Push the crown back in to resume time display.
- Module Specifics: Instructions vary slightly depending on the module. Generally, you pull the crown to the appropriate position (normal, first click for date/day, second click for time), set the values, and then push the crown back in. For precise time setting, it's often recommended to advance the minute hand 4-5 minutes past the desired time and then move it back to the correct minute.
- Date/Day Setting Caution: To ensure the date and day change over correctly at midnight, avoid setting them between 8:00 PM (20:00) and 2:00 AM.
- Day of Week Display: Days of the week are displayed in English or Spanish.
Example Day Names:
English | Spanish |
---|---|
SUN | DOM |
MON | LUN |
TUE | MAR |
WED | MIER |
THU | JUEV |
FRI | VIER |
SAT | SAB |
Watches with Backlight
Press and hold button 'L' to activate the watch's backlight.
- Backlight duration varies by model (e.g., 2 to 3 seconds, 1 second, or while the button is held).
- The backlight is provided by electroluminescent (EL) elements or LEDs. EL elements may lose brightness after prolonged use.
- Frequent use of the backlight reduces battery life.
- Activating the backlight for extended periods or when the battery charge is low may cause the watch hands to stop moving temporarily.
Watches with Rotating Bezel
Rotate the bezel to align its marker with the minute hand. After some time, you can tell how much time has passed since the marker was aligned with the minute hand.
[Description of bezel diagram: A watch face showing a rotating bezel with markings for minutes/hours. An arrow points to the bezel, labeled "Bezel for measuring elapsed time".]
