Water Resistance
For all watch categories, the following are prohibited:
- Pressing buttons underwater.
- Moving the hands underwater.
- Unscrewing the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it. Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Watches are classified into levels (from I to V) according to their water resistance. Check your watch's level using the table below to determine correct usage.
* Level | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Swimming, Washing, etc. | Diving, Snorkeling, etc. | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes
- I Watches are not water-resistant. Avoid any moisture ingress.
- II WR (Water Resistant) means the model is water-resistant according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause any problems.
- III With 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance, the watch can withstand water pressure as indicated and can therefore be used during showers and brief swimming.
- IV 10 Bar (100 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- V 20 Bar (200 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).
When using the product in conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This phenomenon is due to the laws of physics and is not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of this watch, and does not accept any claims from third parties.
General Notes
Your watch may differ slightly from the illustrations in this manual.
Note on Screw-Lock Crown
Some water-resistant watch models are equipped with a screw-lock crown. To pull out such a crown, you must unlock it by turning it in the direction indicated [arrow symbol]. Do not use excessive force when pulling out the crown, as this may cause damage. Please note that the watch is no longer protected from water and moisture when the crown is pulled out. After completing all operations using the crown, return it to its original position and lock it.

Watches with Backlight
Press and hold button L [⛭] to illuminate the watch face.
Depending on the watch model, the backlight duration is 2 to 3 seconds, or 1 second, or while button L is pressed (module 5577).
Depending on the watch model, the face illumination is by electroluminescent (EL) elements or LEDs. EL elements lose power after prolonged use.
Frequent use of the backlight reduces battery life.
Activating the backlight for an extended period or with a low battery charge may cause the watch hands to stop moving for a while.

Watches with Rotating Bezel
