Water Resistance
Important Information: Read Before Use
For all categories of watches, the following actions are prohibited while underwater:
- Pressing buttons
- Changing the time (moving hands)
- Unscrewing the crown
If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly and dry it. Do not wear a watch with a leather strap while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Watches are classified by water resistance ratings (from I to V) based on their degree of protection against water. Consult the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.
Water Resistance Ratings Table
Rating | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Washing, Sweating, etc. | Swimming, Snorkeling | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | Yes | Yes | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- I: Watches are not protected against water. Avoid exposure to any moisture.
- II: WR (Water Resistant) means the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
- III: Watches with 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance can withstand water pressure as indicated and can be used during showers and brief swimming.
- IV: Water resistance of 10 Bar (100 meters) means the watch can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- V: Water resistance of 20 Bar (200 meters) means the watch can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).
When using the product in conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This phenomenon is due to the laws of physics and is not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur during the use of this watch and does not accept any claims from third parties.
Screw-Lock Crown
Your watch may differ slightly from the illustrations in this manual.
Note: Some water-resistant models are equipped with a screw-lock crown.
- To pull out such a crown, you must first unlock it by turning it in the direction indicated in the diagram. Do not apply excessive force when pulling out the crown, as this may cause damage.
- Be aware that the watch loses its water resistance when the crown is pulled out. After completing any operations with the crown, return it to its original position and lock it.
Diagram Description: A watch face is shown. An arrow indicates turning the crown to unlock it. The crown is labeled "Заводная головка" (Crown). Another diagram shows the crown in a pulled-out position.
