Water Protection
This section provides essential information regarding water resistance for Casio watches.
General Precautions: For all watch categories, it is prohibited to:
- Press buttons underwater.
- Adjust hands underwater.
- Unscrew the crown underwater.
If your watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it completely. Avoid wearing watches with leather straps while swimming or during prolonged contact with water.
Watches are classified by water resistance levels (I to V) according to their protection against water. Refer to the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.
Level | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, etc. | Swimming, Washing Car, etc. | Scuba Diving, Snorkeling | Free Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | Yes | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes on Water Resistance:
- Level I: Watches are not water-resistant. Avoid any moisture.
- Level II: WR (Water Resistant) indicates the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
- Level III: Watches with 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance can withstand water pressure equivalent to that experienced during showering and brief swimming.
- Level IV: Watches with 10 Bar (100 meters) water resistance can be used for normal swimming and snorkeling.
- Level V: Watches with 20 Bar (200 meters) water resistance can be used for scuba diving, excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen gas mixtures.
Condensation: Under conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This is a normal physical phenomenon and not a defect.

Crown Operation
Your watch may differ slightly from the illustrations in this manual.
Screw-Lock Crown: Some water-resistant models are equipped with a screw-lock crown.
- To pull out the crown, you must first unlock it by turning it in the direction indicated in the illustration. Do not use excessive force when pulling out the crown, as this may cause damage.
- Note that water and moisture resistance is lost when the crown is pulled out. After performing any operations with the crown, ensure it is returned to its original position and locked.

- Backlight illumination is provided by electroluminescent (EL) elements or LEDs. EL elements may lose brightness after prolonged use.
- Frequent use of the backlight reduces battery life.
