3.2 Handlebar Attachment (if applicable)

Some models may require attaching the handlebars. Align the handlebar with the stem and secure it using the provided screws and tools. Ensure all screws are tightened firmly.

3.3 Initial Charging

Before your first ride, fully charge the scooter's battery. Connect the charging adapter to the charging port on the scooter and then to a power outlet. The charging indicator light on the charger will change (e.g., from red to green) when fully charged. Charging typically takes about 4 hours.

3.4 Tire Inflation

The scooters are equipped with 8.5" pneumatic tires. For optimal performance and safety, ensure tires are properly inflated. The recommended tire pressure is 340 kPa (50 PSI). Check tire pressure monthly.

4. Operating Your Scooter

4.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the power button on the handlebar display to turn the scooter on or off.

4.2 Riding Basics

  1. Place one foot firmly on the deck of the scooter.
  2. Use your other foot to push off the ground to gain initial momentum.
  3. Once you reach a speed of approximately 1.8 mph (3 km/h), gently press the throttle lever to engage the motor.
  4. Maintain a balanced posture with both feet on the deck while riding.

4.3 Braking System

Both Fusion and GXL V2 models feature a dual braking system for enhanced safety:

  • EABS (Electronic Anti-lock Braking System): Engaged via the handlebar brake lever, providing smooth and controlled deceleration.
  • Rear Disc Brake: Also engaged via the handlebar brake lever, offering strong stopping power.

To brake, gently squeeze the brake lever on the handlebar. Apply gradual pressure for smooth stops. For emergency stops, apply firm pressure to the brake lever.

4.4 Display Functions

The integrated LCD display on the handlebar provides real-time information, which may include:

  • Current Speed
  • Battery Level Indicator
  • Speed Mode (if applicable)
  • Headlight Status
  • Cruise Control Indicator (if applicable)

5. Maintenance & Care

Regular maintenance ensures the safety and extends the lifespan of your Gotrax scooter.

5.1 Tire Maintenance

  • Check tire pressure monthly. Maintain 340 kPa (50 PSI) for optimal performance and to prevent flats.
  • Inspect tires for wear, punctures, or damage regularly.

5.2 Cleaning

Clean your scooter with a damp cloth. Do not use high-pressure water jets or immerse the scooter in water, as this can damage electronic components. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners.

5.3 Brake Inspection

Regularly check the brake levers and disc brake for proper function. Ensure the brake cables are not frayed and the brake pads are not excessively worn. Adjust or replace components as needed.

5.4 Battery Care & Storage

  • Store the scooter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to approximately 50-70% every 30-60 days to prevent deep discharge and prolong battery life.
  • Do not overcharge or completely drain the battery.
