What should I provide to create a manual?
Start with the product brand and name, and include a model number when available. Add product and support links, specifications, existing documents, and pictures or videos of important functions. Explain setup, operation, reset, troubleshooting, maintenance, and known warnings in plain English. Link any associated app.
Which images, videos, and documents can I upload?
Upload JPEG, PNG, or WebP images; MP4, MOV, or WebM videos; and PDF, DOCX, TXT, or Markdown documents. JPEG XL, HEIC, and HEIF images are converted in your browser before upload. You can drag and drop assets into the upload steps. File size and source limits are shown as you go.
Can the tool use images and information from product links?
Yes. Add links one at a time, including product pages, support pages, companion apps, public YouTube videos, or direct video links. Available product information, images, videos, and documents join your sources. Review imported assets during the upload steps. If a source is unavailable, upload a replacement or continue with the available material.
Can I choose the manual sections before generation?
Yes. The first pass suggests sections tailored to your device and sources. You can add or remove sections and individual details, or keep the suggested outline. The second pass uses that outline to create the full user manual.
Can I download my user manual as a PDF?
Yes. Open your completed manual and choose Export PDF to download a printable copy. You can also share the manual as a webpage. PDF export is included without a Creator subscription.
Can I edit a generated instruction manual?
The Creator plan unlocks editing with headings, text formatting, lists, tables, links, images, and videos, plus autosave and revision history. You can manage visibility, sharing, and deletion without subscribing.
What happens when information is missing or conflicting?
Unavailable sources and conflicting information are shown during review. You can add replacements or explicitly continue using the available sources. Unsupported procedures and guessed credentials are omitted. Review the generated manual for accuracy before sharing it.
Who can see my manual, and can it appear in search?
Public viewing and sharing start enabled. You can change either setting without subscribing; turning both off limits access to the owner. Generated share pages ask search engines not to index or follow them. Only staff-approved copies in the Manuals+ Hub are eligible for search indexing. Guest manuals stay linked to the browser that created them.
