Maintenance

Windshield Installation

For optimal audio quality in windy conditions, attach the provided fur windshields to the transmitters. These windshields help to diffuse wind noise, ensuring clearer recordings. Gently push the windshield onto the microphone head until it is securely in place.

General Care

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your BOYA Omic-U system, keep all components clean and dry. Avoid exposing the devices to extreme temperatures or moisture. Store the microphones and receiver in the charging case when not in use to protect them and keep them charged.

Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

If the microphone system does not connect automatically, ensure that the USB OTG (On-The-Go) function is enabled in your device's settings. This setting is crucial for external USB devices to be recognized. Also, verify that the receiver is fully and securely plugged into your device's USB-C port. A loose or damaged connection can prevent proper operation.

Audio Playback Issues

If you cannot hear audio during playback after recording, ensure that the receiver is unplugged from your device. Many devices automatically route audio output through the connected USB-C port, muting internal speakers when the receiver is attached.

Transmission Range

The BOYA Omic-U offers a transmission range of up to 50 meters (164 feet) in an open field without degradation of audio response. If you experience signal drops or poor audio quality, ensure you are within this recommended range and that there are no significant obstructions between the transmitter and receiver.
