Transmitter Overview
The transmitter unit includes:

Receiver Overview

Understanding Cable Differences
The BY-WM4 uses two types of audio output cables:
- 3.5mm TRRS connector: For Smartphones, tablets, or Macs. Connects to the receiver's "LINE OUT" and the smartphone's audio jack.
- 3.5mm TRS connector: For cameras, camcorders, audio recorders, and other audio/video recording devices. Connects to the receiver's "LINE OUT" and the camera's audio jack.
Caution: Ensure you use the correct cable for your device to avoid issues.
Precautionary Measures When Using Batteries
Improper handling of batteries can lead to leakage or explosion. Observe these safety notes:
- Use only specified batteries.
- Do not expose batteries to fire or direct heat.
- Remove batteries if the product will not be used for an extended period or if they are discharged to prevent damage.
- If battery fluid contacts skin or clothes, rinse immediately with fresh water.
How to Use
Inserting Batteries
- Both transmitter and receiver require one AA size battery.
- Slide and remove the battery compartment cover.
- Insert one battery.
- Close the battery compartment cover.
- Repeat for the other unit.
Connecting the Transmitter and Receiver
The transmitter and receiver are pre-paired before leaving the factory. If they disconnect, follow these steps to re-pair:
- Turn on the receiver.
- Press and hold the "+" and "-" buttons on the receiver simultaneously for 3 seconds.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the transmitter.
Successful pairing is indicated when the LED lights on both units flash blue. If unsuccessful, repeat the steps.
Using the Microphone with Smartphones, Tablets, or Macs
- Mount the receiver to your smartphone, tablet, or Mac.
- Using the TRRS cable, plug the 3.5mm connector (straight plug) into your smartphone's audio jack.
- Insert the 90° plug of the connecting cable into the receiver's "LINE OUT" jack.
- Insert earphones into the receiver's earphone jack for monitoring sound.
- Slide the power ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The LED indicator will light blue.
Caution: Ensure correct plug usage; refer to "What's Difference?" on page 6.
Using the Microphone with Cameras, Camcorders, Audio Recorders, etc.
- Mount the receiver to your camera, camcorder, or audio recording device.
- Using the TRS cable, plug the 3.5mm connector into your camera's audio jack.
- Insert the other end of the connecting cable into the receiver's "LINE OUT" jack.
- Insert earphones into the receiver's earphone jack for monitoring sound.
- Slide the power ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The LED indicator will light blue.

Installing the Microphone
- The clip is mounted on the microphone before leaving the factory.
- Both transmitter and receiver have clips, allowing mounting anywhere desired.
- Adjust the microphone's direction towards your mouth by rotating it.
Mounting the Receiver onto a Camera Hot/Cold Shoe
- Push the clip on the receiver to the right side.
- Screw the shoe mount adapter onto the receiver as shown in the diagram.
- Mount the receiver onto the camera's hot/cold shoe.

CAUTION

IMPORTANT
- Remove batteries if the wireless microphone will not be used for a long period.
- Avoid touching the lavalier/lapel microphone, transmitter, or receiver during recording to prevent noise.
- Keep the transmitter away from high-voltage equipment or strong electromagnetic fields to prevent noise.
- Do not use or leave the transmitter and receiver in hot, humid places.
- Do not leave the receiver attached to the camera when storing the camera in a case.
- Do not mix up transmitter and receiver units.
MAINTENANCE
- Do not operate with wet hands or feet.
- Clean equipment only as described in the instructions.
- Prevent the equipment from dropping. Ensure it is properly fastened and mounted. If dropped, have it inspected by a skilled electrician before reuse.
