Start with what you have

Find furniture instructions from a photo or link

Use the product itself as your starting point when a name-only search is unhelpful. Image search looks for possible product matches and instructions; compare the details before assembling.

  1. Use a product or stock photo

Upload a clear photo of the whole item, a saved retailer stock image, or a cropped product screenshot. A clear view of the shape, frame, drawers, or shelves gives the search a useful starting point.

  2. Paste a retailer or image link

Copy the product-page link from the shop where you found the item, or use a direct image URL. Paste it in image search. If a listing is unavailable, try a saved product photo instead.

  3. Check the candidate manual

Compare dimensions, configuration, panel and hole positions, fasteners, and model or part numbers. Similar-looking furniture can use different sizes, revisions, or hardware.

Furniture can be sold under multiple brand or listing names. For example, CPSC identifies wall-bed part numbers shared across several brand and style names. Use a visual match as a lead, then confirm the exact version.

Choose the right guide

Use these checks to narrow the results and find instructions that apply to your product.

  1. Find a candidate by photo, link, or model

Start with image search if you have a product or stock photo, screenshot, image URL, or retailer product-page link. If you have a model, article, or item number, search that number with the product type.

  2. Match the product and illustrated parts

Compare the model or manufacturer part number, dimensions, drawer or shelf layout, panel shapes, hole positions, and hardware. Check the quantities and part labels against the pieces you received. A similar photograph alone does not confirm a match.

  3. Read the diagrams in sequence

Follow the orientation, fastener callouts, and order of the matching manual. Check notes about alignment, leaving fasteners loose, or working with another person; requirements vary by product.

  4. Complete the final checks

Read the final inspection, mounting, anchoring, and use instructions in the matching manual. If the model, parts, or hardware do not agree, ask the seller or manufacturer to confirm the correct instructions.

Common questions

How to save or print a manual →
Can I find assembly instructions from a stock photo?

Yes. Open image search and upload a saved product or stock photo, take a picture, or paste an image URL. A cropped product screenshot can also help find candidates. Compare the model, dimensions, parts, and hardware before using any instructions.

Can I paste a shopping or product-page link?

Yes. Paste the retailer product-page link into image search, or use a direct image URL. If the page is unavailable or does not show the product clearly, try a saved stock image or your own product photo.

Why does similar furniture appear under different brand names?

Furniture may be sold under multiple retailer, brand, or style names. A manufacturer part number, model code, and matching product details can help connect listings. Similar photos alone do not establish that two items use the same assembly instructions.

What should I search if the box has no brand name?

Try a product photo, stock image, or original listing link in image search. If you have an item, article, or model number, search it with the product type. Compare the illustrated parts and hardware with what you received.

Can I substitute hardware from another product?

Use the hardware specified in the matching instructions. Ask the manufacturer or supplier about missing parts and quote the model and part number from the diagram.

Where do I find furniture anchoring instructions?

Check the assembly manual’s installation and final-check sections. Follow the requirements for that product and the specified wall or mounting arrangement.
