Getting online with AT&T High Speed Internet service is easy. Just follow the enclosed installation instructions to be up and running in no time!

Internet Basics

Connecting to the Internet

To get online, double-click the Internet browser icon (represented by a blue 'e' symbol) on your desktop.

Surfing

To reach a specific Web site, type the Web address in the navigation bar (example: att.net).

The navigation bar typically includes elements like AT&T Mail, AT&T Features, Games, Groups, Answers, Screen, Mobile, U-verse, att.com, and a 'More' option, along with a search field and a 'Search Web' button powered by Yahoo!.

Searching

To search for content, enter a topic or keyword in the Search field at the top of the homepage and click the Search Web button. Users can search for Web sites, images, people, products, and more.

Customizing Your Service

Your AT&T High Speed Internet homepage is located at att.net

If a Spanish-language homepage is preferred, use AT&T En Vivo located at envivo.att.com. Users should set att.net or envivo.att.com as their homepage for easy access to all important AT&T High Speed Internet features, entertainment, email, and more.

The homepage serves as a portal to the rest of the Internet, offering sections like Shop AT&T, myAT&T, Digital Life, U-verse, AT&T Support, and news feeds. It also provides access to email and trending topics.

Personalizing your homepage

Users can customize their homepage with everything from news, weather, finance, and sports to their favorite music and entertainment. Full-length movies and TV shows are available for FREE at uverse.com. Content is organized for convenience, with easy access to email, security tools, and technical support. The homepage can also be viewed in Spanish by clicking 'En Español'.

Managing your account at myAT&T

myAT&T is the best place to learn about AT&T High Speed Internet service and manage accounts. Users can change passwords, create email sub accounts, view plans, and more. Access myAT&T from the right side of the att.net homepage or by visiting att.com/manage. The myAT&T app can also be downloaded to smartphones by texting 'myATT' to 8758.

att.net on the go

Users can take att.net on their mobile phone to check email and view favorite content anywhere. Access stock portfolios, sports, weather, entertainment, and more, all optimized for mobile devices.

Communication

Email

There are two ways to access email: through AT&T Mail or an email client such as Microsoft® Outlook® Express.

AT&T Mail

With AT&T Mail, users can access their email account online anytime from any computer. This Web-based application allows reading and composing email in an Internet browser window. All email is stored online, saving hard drive space and making it accessible at home and on the go. It also provides easy access to tools like Contacts and Calendar. AT&T Mail can be set up to access messages from mail accounts with other services. To access AT&T Mail, click the Mail icon (represented by an envelope symbol) at the top right of the homepage.

Other email clients

At home, users can also use an email client, such as Outlook Express. These applications download mail to the computer's hard drive for offline access. Instructions are available in the email section at att.com/support.

Additional email accounts

AT&T High Speed Internet service includes multiple email accounts with virtually unlimited storage space. To set up additional accounts, create an alias, or learn more, visit att.com/support.

Instant messaging

Chat with friends and family in real time with Yahoo! Messenger, even if they use MSN or other IM services. Yahoo! Messenger can be downloaded free from att.software.yahoo.com.

Protecting oneself, family, and computer online is important. AT&T High Speed Internet service offers many tools and features to guard against online threats and nuisances.

AT&T Internet Security Suite powered by McAfee®

With new online threats emerging daily, protecting computers with a proven suite of anti-virus tools is critical. The AT&T Internet Security Suite is an optional enhanced security feature that includes:

  • Anti-Virus: Stops and removes viruses before they get to the PC.
  • Firewall: Shields computers from unauthorized access.
  • Anti-Spyware: Blocks and removes existing spyware programs that gather personal information and slow down computers.
  • McAfee WebAdvisor®: Provides security ratings for Web sites to help avoid online dangers.

This suite is FREE with higher-speed plans and can be downloaded at att.net/iss.

Email protection

AT&T High Speed Internet service also includes strong, integrated protection for email accounts with:

  • SpamGuard: Automatically protects inboxes from spam and grows stronger over time.
  • AddressGuard: Protects the privacy of email addresses from spammers and strangers.
  • Email Anti-Virus: Safeguards computers from emails containing harmful viruses.

Parental Controls

Keep families safe online with Parental Controls designed to promote safe surfing. Control access to Web sites, email, chat rooms, message boards, games, and more. AT&T Wi-Fi access

AT&T Wi-Fi Basic service is included with AT&T High Speed Internet service, providing high-speed Internet at home and on the go with unlimited usage through wireless data plans when connected to nationwide hotspots. Broadband data usage charges may apply if connected to home Wi-Fi. Connecting at AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots involves configuring Wi-Fi enabled devices to the “attwifi” network (SSID), logging in with the AT&T High Speed Internet primary member ID and account password, accepting Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, and clicking Connect. To locate hotspots, visit att.com/go or attwifi.com.

Optimize your AT&T High Speed Internet service

Wireless networking

Surf with a wireless connection from virtually anywhere in the home or office. Wireless networking allows multiple users to share the same high-speed connection. A Wi-Fi Gateway is needed, available online at att.com/equipment or at electronics and computer stores. Setup is easy, and customer support is available. To learn more, visit att.com/wifisupport.

Need more speed?

AT&T offers a variety of plans with different speeds. Users can upgrade to a higher speed at any time for better value. For information on available plans and pricing, access myAT&T from the home page or visit att.com/myatt.

Rewards and Billing

AT&T Reward Center

Eligible customers for a reward for purchasing AT&T High Speed Internet service should watch their mailbox for instructions on how to claim and use the AT&T Reward Tracker, which arrives within four weeks of installation. Most customers receive their reward within three weeks after meeting service requirements. Visit att.com/rewardinfo for information on the reward process.

Note: Rewards may take up to four weeks from activation date to display on the site.
Important: Make sure to claim your reward by the "claim by" date circled on your Reward Notification Letter.

AT&T Refer-A-Friend

Refer a friend to AT&T High Speed Internet service or any other qualifying AT&T service to earn rewards. Both parties can receive rewards for each qualifying AT&T service they sign up for, with potential earnings up to $575 per year. Visit att.com/refer to sign up and make referrals.

Your bill – what to expect

Monthly billing

Monthly billing begins once provisioning is complete. The monthly fee is billed one month in advance, while usage and other charges are billed after they are incurred.

Your first bill

Items that may appear on the first bill include:

  • Internet equipment charge (if applicable): Charges for equipment (e.g., modem or AT&T Wi-Fi Gateway) billed as a one-time charge or in monthly interest-free installments. Options may vary by location.
  • Monthly service charge: Billed one month in advance. The first bill may contain prorated charges for the partial month service was established, plus the standard monthly fee for the upcoming month.
  • Dial Internet service prorated credit: For upgrades from AT&T Dial Internet service to AT&T High Speed Internet service, a credit may appear for the portion of the month during which dial-up service was not used. This appears only on the first bill.
  • Usage and other charges: May include charges for data usage exceeding the plan. For more information on broadband usage, visit att.com/internet-usage.
