1.4 Installing the Correct Adapter
The Danfoss EcoTM package includes an adapter template to help you find the correct adapter for your valve. If you need additional assistance finding the right adapter, follow the QR code on the template and watch the instruction video.
1.5 Inserting Batteries
Remove the battery compartment cover as shown in the illustration and insert two AA batteries. Ensure the batteries are oriented correctly. Do not use rechargeable batteries. When replacing batteries, date and time settings are immediately lost. After replacing batteries, reconnect to a smartphone to activate a program. The red ring will flash intermittently. After reconnecting to the app, date and time settings will be restored. If you do not reconnect, the thermostat will remain in manual mode. The low battery level symbol is displayed approximately one month before the batteries are completely discharged. Before the batteries are completely discharged, Danfoss EcoTM will leave the valve in the frost protection position to protect the heating system from damage. Estimated battery life is up to 2 years.
1.6 Mounting the Danfoss EcoTM Thermostat
Screw the Danfoss EcoTM thermostat onto the mounted adapter until it clicks. After securely tightening the thermostat, adjust the display orientation to your preference. A large flashing 'M' symbol on the screen indicates that installation mode is active. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds. The temperature setting value will appear on the screen after mounting the Danfoss EcoTM thermostat.

Download the Danfoss EcoTM App.
1.8 Connecting the Danfoss EcoTM Thermostat
Note: activate the Bluetooth function on your smartphone to connect to Danfoss EcoTM. Follow the instructions provided by the Danfoss EcoTM App to connect the Danfoss EcoTM thermostat. The Bluetooth range is 10 m (depending on building construction and surroundings).
1.9 Automatic Adjustments
After the Danfoss EcoTM thermostat has been installed, it will automatically begin to adapt to your heating system during the first week after installation. During this process, you may notice that the thermostat reacts with a delay or turns the heating on and off by itself. This is normal and a necessary part of the adjustment process.
- Valve Adjustment: During the first night of operation, the Danfoss EcoTM thermostat will turn off the radiator heat and then turn it back on to detect the exact valve opening point. This allows the Danfoss EcoTM thermostat to control heating with maximum efficiency. If necessary, the procedure is repeated once per night for a week.
- Adaptive Learning System: If you activate the adaptive learning system, during the first week of operation, the Danfoss EcoTM thermostat learns when it is necessary to start heating the room to achieve the correct temperature at the right time. Intelligent control will continuously adjust heating times relative to seasonal temperature changes. Using the economy program requires your heating system to have sufficient heat for a short period during heating. If you encounter problems, contact your installer.
1.10 Removing the Danfoss EcoTM Thermostat
- Press and hold until the large 'M' symbol flashes intermittently. This indicates that mounting mode is active.
- Remove the cover.
- Press firmly on the button and unscrew the thermostat from the adapter.
1.11 Resetting the Danfoss EcoTM Thermostat to Default Settings
