1.4 Installing the Correct Adapter
The Danfoss EcoTM unit box includes an adapter selection guide to help you find the correct adapter for your valve. If you need further assistance, follow the QR code in the guide and the video instructions.
The guide illustrates how to identify and fit adapters for various valve types, including RA Danfoss, M30 x 1.5, RAV, RAVL, RTD, M28 (MMA, Herz, Orkli, COMAP), Caleffi, and Giacomini valves.
1.5 Installing Batteries
Remove the battery cover as shown in the illustration and insert two AA batteries. Ensure correct polarity. Rechargeable batteries should not be used. Upon replacing batteries, time and date settings will be immediately lost. After replacing batteries, reconnect to a smartphone to activate a schedule. The red ring will flash. Reconnect to the app, and the time and date will be reset. If you do not reconnect, the sensor will remain in manual mode.
The low battery symbol appears approximately one month before the batteries are depleted. Before the batteries run out, the Danfoss EcoTM unit will set the valve to the frost protection position to safeguard the heating system from potential damage. The estimated battery life is up to two years.
1.6 Mounting Danfoss EcoTM
Screw the Danfoss EcoTM onto the mounted adapter until you hear a click. After correctly fitting the thermostat, adjust the display to your desired orientation. A large flashing 'M' will appear on the display, indicating that installation mode is activated. Press and hold the button for three seconds. The temperature setpoint will be displayed after mounting the Danfoss EcoTM.
1.7 Downloading the Danfoss EcoTM App
Download the Danfoss EcoTM application from your smartphone's app store.
1.8 Connecting Danfoss EcoTM
Note: Activate your smartphone's Bluetooth function to establish a connection with the Danfoss EcoTM device. Follow the instructions in the Danfoss EcoTM app to connect your device. The Bluetooth system range is 10 m (depending on the building layout and surroundings).
1.9 Automatic Adjustments
Once installed, Danfoss EcoTM will automatically begin adjusting to your heating system. This process will continue for the first week after installation. During this period, you may observe the thermostat reacting slowly or adjusting the heating up and down on its own. This is normal and part of the necessary adjustment process.
- Valve Adjustment: During the first night of operation, Danfoss EcoTM will close the radiator valve and reopen it to detect the exact opening point. This allows Danfoss EcoTM to control heat most efficiently. If necessary, this procedure will repeat once each night for up to a week.
- Adaptive Learning: If you enable the adaptive learning function, Danfoss EcoTM learns when the room heating needs to be turned on to reach the correct temperature at the right time. The intelligent control continuously adjusts heating times to seasonal temperature changes. With the energy-saving program, the heating system needs to have sufficient heat for a short period during warm-up. If problems are detected, contact your installer.
1.10 Uninstalling Danfoss EcoTM
- Press and hold until a large 'M' flashes, indicating installation mode.
- Remove the cover.
- Press the tab firmly and unscrew the thermostat from the adapter.
1.11 Resetting Danfoss EcoTM to Default Settings
- Remove the cover and take out one of the batteries.
- Press and hold while reinserting the battery. The screen will turn blank after approximately three seconds.
