Display Symbols:
- Installation Mode: Always activate when installing or removing the unit. Incorrect positioning can cause irreparable damage.
- Temperature: Displayed in Celsius (°C). Shows setpoint, not room temperature.
- Scheduled Mode: Indicates the thermostat is operating on a programmed schedule.
- Connection Icon: A [connection icon] flashes when the app needs to connect. If connected, the red ring is lit (display may be blank).
- Low Battery: Battery icon flashes. Red ring flashes when critical.
3.2 Red Illuminated Ring
The [red ring indicator] is constantly lit when connected to the Danfoss EcoTM app. It also flashes when the battery level is critically low.
3.3 Rotating the Display
The Danfoss EcoTM unit can be installed horizontally or vertically. The display orientation can be set to "horizontal" or "vertical" in the advanced settings of the Danfoss EcoTM app.
3.4 Manual Mode
The Danfoss EcoTM unit can be used without the Danfoss EcoTM app in manual mode, offering reduced functionality. Adjust the temperature using the dial. The display shows the setpoint temperature, not the room temperature. In manual mode, you cannot set comfort or reduced temperatures.

4. Schedules and Temperatures
4.1 Time
The unit receives the accurate time from your smartphone. No manual time setting is required. Danfoss EcoTM displays time in a 24-hour format. If batteries are removed, reconnect to the app after replacement to set the time.
4.2 Setpoint Temperatures
Default setpoint temperatures for Danfoss EcoTM are:
- Home: 21 °C
- Away/Sleep: 17 °C
- Vacation: 15 °C
These default values can be changed in the Danfoss EcoTM app.
4.3 Setting Temperatures
Set your desired temperatures for reduced temperature periods in the Danfoss EcoTM app. Adjust temperatures by sliding. The Danfoss EcoTM can be set between 4 °C and 28 °C. Danfoss recommends a difference of no more than 4 degrees between "Home" and "Away/Sleep" temperatures. Temperature changes made on the main screen are temporary until the next scheduled period.
4.4 Creating Your Own Schedule
You can create your own schedule in the Danfoss EcoTM app. Select any reduced temperature time within 24 hours, with up to 3 periods of reduced temperature per day. "Home" periods are shown in red on the weekly schedule. The "copy" function allows you to copy a created schedule to other days. The app displays a 24-hour clock with "Home" times in red and a schedule summary. The shortest "Home" period is 30 minutes.
Visual Description: A screenshot of the app's schedule interface showing daily time slots and temperature settings.
4.5 Away Mode
The "Away" mode maintains a reduced temperature for a defined period. Use it to save energy when you are not at home. "Away" mode can be scheduled or set immediately ("Now"). Scheduled "Away" mode includes date and time settings. The "Away" mode date is confirmed on the app's display.
Visual Description: App interface screens for setting up "Away" mode, including scheduling and immediate activation.
4.6 Cancelling Away Mode
If you return earlier than expected, you can switch from "Away" mode back to your usual schedule. In the "Away" mode settings, the app allows you to end the "Away" period or edit the date and time.
4.7 Cancelling Existing Away Mode
If "Away" mode is scheduled for the future, you can edit the dates or cancel the program.
4.8 Pause
The pause function maintains a reduced temperature until another program is selected. When the Danfoss EcoTM unit is manually set to the minimum level, a notification appears, and the central icon changes to "Pause" [pause]. To exit pause, click the central icon in the app and restore the scheduled or manual setpoint.
4.9 Open Window Function
The Danfoss EcoTM unit features an "Open Window" function that closes the valve when the room temperature drops suddenly, reducing heat loss. Heating is switched off for a maximum of 30 minutes before the unit reverts to its original settings. The "Open Window" function is active for 45 minutes. Note: Curtains or furniture covering the unit may prevent it from detecting temperature drops.
Visual Description: An icon representing an open window or a sudden temperature drop.
5. Settings and Installation Modes
5.1 Setting Options via the Danfoss EcoTM App
The Danfoss EcoTM app provides extensive control over the thermostat:
- Thermostats: List installed Danfoss EcoTM thermostats by name. Add new devices. Change device names or unpair existing devices.

- Adaptation to Use: Achieve desired temperatures at the right time. The function determines how quickly each room heats up (degrees per hour) based on historical data.
- Heat Control: Allows the Danfoss EcoTM unit to reach comfortable temperatures on time and according to schedule. Options are "Moderate" or "Fast." "Moderate" ensures sufficient return temperature.
- Advanced Settings: Rotate the display by 180° for horizontal or vertical viewing. Activate installation mode. Set frost protection (minimum temperature for heating system protection) between 4 °C and 10 °C.
- System Information: Check the latest software version of the Danfoss EcoTM app installed on the device.
- EULA: Full text of the Danfoss EcoTM app's terms and conditions.
- Help: Links to a support website for troubleshooting the Danfoss EcoTM unit.
