Battery Separation and Disposal

For vehicles where the battery can be separated from the vehicle:

Safely separate your vehicle battery for disposal by following these instructions:

Battery Lock Mechanism:

The battery lock operates similarly to a car ignition lock with three positions:

  • Position 1 (Remove Battery): All the way anti-clockwise. The battery is OFF and can be removed. Push the key IN when turning towards Position 2.
  • Position 2 (OFF): Battery locked into the frame. Push the key IN when turning anti-clockwise to Position 1.
  • Position 3 (ON): All the way clockwise. Battery locked into the frame.

Procedure:

  1. First, unlock the battery (Position 1). Ensure the lock bolt has retracted fully and the opening in the battery rail is clear.
  2. Hold the bike with one hand and the battery handle with the other. Give the battery a sharp tug to remove it from the rail. Brand new batteries may require a firm tug. Be careful not to injure yourself.

WARNING: Disconnect any power source and ensure the vehicle is safe before separating the battery.
