Safely Separating Battery for Disposal
Follow these instructions:
Diagram Description: The battery lock mechanism features three positions controlled by a key. Position 1 (Remove battery) is all the way anti-clockwise, allowing the battery to be removed. Push the key IN when turning towards Position 2. Position 2 (OFF) locks the battery into the frame; push the key IN when turning anti-clockwise to Position 1. Position 3 (ON) is all the way clockwise, locking the battery into the frame.
Procedure: First, unlock the battery (Position 1). Ensure the lock bolt has retracted fully and the battery rail opening is clear. Hold the bike with one hand, grasp the battery handle with the other, and give it a sharp tug. New batteries may require a firm tug to be removed.
WARNING: Disconnect any power source and ensure the vehicle is safe before separating the battery.
