Replacement Parts - All Models: Includes items like Plastic Pop-Up Assembly (RP41587) and 9 Volt Power Supply (EP73954) as accessories. Useful accessories like adapters (RP63263, RP63264, RP63265) are also available.
Installation Instructions
The installation process involves several steps, generally including:
- Check Connections: Ensure all connections are secure and leak-free. Use a wrench for final tightening, but avoid overtightening.
- Water Supply: Install included check valves on hot and cold water supplies.
- Flushing Lines: Place a bucket under the faucet outlet and slowly open the water supply to flush debris. Close supply and remove bucket.
- Mounting: Secure the faucet body to the sink or countertop, ensuring proper alignment.
- Connecting Components: Attach the solenoid assembly, electronic base, battery box, and lift rod according to the diagrams.
- Wire Management: Ensure wires are routed correctly and do not interfere with operation.
- Battery Installation: Insert batteries into the battery holder, ensuring correct orientation.
- Handle Limit Stop Adjustment (Optional): For models 538T, 551T, and 751T, adjust the handle limit stop to control hot water temperature range. This involves removing the handle, setting the valve stem to the 'all cold' position, changing the stop position, and reinstalling the handle.
- Custom Fit Connections: Ensure supply tubing is cut straight and properly connected using the provided sleeves and nuts.
- Plastic Sleeve Installation: Slide the nut and plastic sleeve onto the tube, insert into the fitting, slide the sleeve down to engage the fitting, and tighten the nut.
- Manual Bypass: In case of electronic failure, disconnect wires and clips from the solenoid. Attach a hose directly to the outlet for manual operation.
Note: Always refer to specific diagrams for each step and model.
Maintenance
If faucet exhibits very low flow:
- Clean the aerator (1) with the supplied wrench (2).
- For models 561T-DST, 761T-DST, 574T-DST, 774T-DST: Flush debris from the outlet, clean, and reinstall the flow restrictor (13). If low flow persists, replace the stream straightener.
- Shut off water supplies. Replace the valve cartridge (3), ensuring the bonnet nut (4) is securely tightened.
- Clean the blue filter (14) inside the solenoid valve using needle-nose pliers or tweezers.
If faucet leaks from under the handle:
- Remove the handle and trim cap (5). Ensure the bonnet nut (4) is tight.
If faucet leaks from the spout outlet:
- Shut off water supplies. Replace the valve cartridge (3), ensuring the bonnet nut (4) is securely tightened.
WARNING: Failure to securely tighten the bonnet nut could result in water damage.
Note: Do not attempt to disassemble the cartridge (3); it contains no repairable parts.
Troubleshooting
Solenoid Troubleshooting:
- Three Red Flashes: Replace batteries. If the issue persists, replace the solenoid assembly.
- No Water or Light: Check battery orientation and charge. Verify AC adapter outlet is powered if used. Ensure the spout sense clip (RP53233) is properly attached to the spout and solenoid wire. If the faucet activates by touching the clip but not the spout, adjust mounting hardware to center the faucet.
- Touch Sensitivity Issues: Place the battery pack flat on the floor under the sink.
- Proper Light, Little/No Water: Verify handle and water supplies are 'on'. Clean the screen-type filter from the solenoid assembly. Check the spray head inlet for debris. Check flow from the solenoid assembly outlet. If water flows when solenoid is removed, replace the solenoid and electronics kit.
- Water Continues to Flow (Light Off): Touch the faucet on/off multiple times to clear debris from the solenoid. If unsuccessful, replace the solenoid assembly.
- Indicator Light Not Illuminating: Ensure the spout indicator connector is fully inserted into the solenoid assembly. If it is connected and the light still doesn't work, replace the indicator base and solenoid assembly.
Manual Bypass Option: For temporary manual operation, remove the solenoid assembly and connect the hose directly to the faucet outlet.
LED Guide
- Solid Blue: Solenoid valve open, water temp < 80°F (27°C).
- Solid Magenta: Solenoid valve open, 80°F (27°C) ≤ water temp ≤ 110°F (43°C).
- Solid Red: Solenoid valve open, water temp > 110°F (43°C).
- 3 Red Flashes (before open/close): Replace batteries.
Quick Tips for Your Delta® Touch₂O® Technology Faucet
- Place hands within 4" of the faucet to turn it on; it stays on until hands are removed.
- Tapping the faucet turns it on for up to 2 minutes or until tapped off.
- Use the handle to control temperature and volume for both manual and electronic operation.
- Water flows when the handle is grabbed or tapped. A tap turns it off. It can be reactivated hands-free or by tapping.
- The LED light changes from blue to red as water temperature increases.
- Faucets can run for up to 2 years on 6 AA batteries.
Potential Problems and Remedies
- Tubing not cut perpendicular: Make an additional cut, ensuring it's not too short.
- Tubing cut too short: Purchase a coupling union and replacement supply line. Ensure connections match standard 3/8" nuts and sleeves.
- Lost plastic sleeve or connection nut: Purchase replacements designed for PEX tubing. Do not use alternative gaskets or sleeves not specified, as they may not create a leak-free joint. Do not use pipe dope or other sealants on water line connections.
