Easy Installation Guide
For the easiest installation of your Delta® faucet, it is crucial to:
- Read ALL instructions completely before beginning.
- Read ALL warnings, care, and maintenance information.
For additional technical documents and product information, visit www.deltafaucet.com.
Installation Steps
Refer to the following steps for installation. Diagrams illustrating each step are provided in the original document.
- Install Check Valves: Install included check valves on hot and cold water supplies. Finger tighten, then tighten one additional turn with a wrench. Loop supply lines if possible to avoid cutting. Finger tighten both hot and cold sides, then tighten one additional turn with a wrench. Use a second wrench to ensure proper tightness.
- Optional Escutcheon Installation: Follow specific instructions if using the optional escutcheon plate.
- Connect Water Supply: Connect water supply lines to the faucet.
- Flush Lines: Place a bucket under the faucet outlet tube. Slowly open water supply stops to flush the lines, preventing debris from lodging in the faucet.
- Close Supply and Remove Bucket: Once lines are flushed, close the water supply and remove the bucket.
- Mounting and Electronic Components: Secure the faucet body and install electronic components, including the solenoid assembly and battery box. Ensure wires are routed correctly and not tied, twisted, or bunched.
- Battery Installation: Install batteries (AA or C type, depending on model) into the battery holder, ensuring correct orientation. Secure the cap.
- Drain Assembly: Assemble the drain components, including the lift rod, stopper, and tailpiece.
- Connect to Drain: Connect the faucet assembly to the sink drain.
- Check Connections: Verify all water connections for leaks. Retighten if necessary, but do not overtighten.
- Manual Bypass Setup: In case of electronic malfunction, a manual bypass can be set up by disconnecting wires and attaching a hose directly from the water outlet to the faucet outlet.
Cleaning and Care
To clean your Delta® faucet, wipe gently with a damp cloth and blot dry with a soft towel. Avoid harsh abrasives or polishes, as they can damage the finish.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Low Flow Issues
If faucet exhibits very low flow:
- Clean the aerator (1) with the supplied wrench (2).
- For specific models (561T, 761T, 574T, 774T), refer to installation step 4 to flush debris and reinstall the flow restrictor (13). If low flow persists, replace the stream straightener.
- Shut off water supplies. Replace the valve cartridge (3). Ensure the bonnet nut (4) is tightened securely.
- Remove and clean the blue filter (14) inside the solenoid valve.
Leaks
Under Handle: Remove handle and trim cap (5). Ensure bonnet nut (4) is tight.
From Spout Outlet: Shut off water supplies. Replace valve cartridge (3). Ensure bonnet nut (4) is tightened securely.
WARNING: Failure to securely tighten the bonnet nut may result in water damage.
Solenoid Troubleshooting
- Three Red Flashes: Replace batteries. If the issue persists, replace the solenoid assembly.
- No Water or Light: Check battery orientation, replace batteries, or verify power to optional A/C adapter. Ensure the spout sense clip (RP53233) is properly attached and connected. If touching the clip turns the faucet on, adjust mounting for proper isolation.
- Unacceptable Touch Sensitivity: Place the battery pack flat on the floor under the sink.
- Proper Light, Low/No Water: Verify handle and water supplies are 'on'. Clean the screen-type filter from the solenoid assembly. Check for debris in the spray head inlet and at the solenoid outlet. If water flows when the solenoid is removed, replace the solenoid and electronics kit.
- Water Continues to Flow (Light Off): Touch the faucet on and off repeatedly to clear debris from the solenoid assembly. If unsuccessful, replace the solenoid assembly.
- Indicator Light Not Illuminating: Ensure the spout indicator connector is fully inserted into the solenoid assembly. If the problem persists, replace the indicator base and solenoid assembly.
Note: Do not attempt to disassemble the valve cartridge (3); it contains no repairable parts.
LED Indicator Guide
The LED light indicates water temperature:
- Solid Blue: Solenoid valve open, water temperature < 80°F (27°C).
- Solid Magenta: Solenoid valve open, water temperature 80°F - 110°F (27°C - 43°C).
- Solid Red: Solenoid valve open, water temperature > 110°F (43°C).
- 3 Red Flashes: Indicates a need to replace batteries or the solenoid assembly.
Quick Tips for Operation
- Hands-Free Operation: Place hands within 4 inches of the faucet to activate. It stays on until hands are removed.
- Tap Operation: Tap the faucet to turn it on; it will run for up to 2 minutes or until tapped off.
- Handle Control: Use the handle to control temperature and volume for both manual and electronic modes.
- Water Flow: Grabbing the handle or tapping activates water flow. A tap turns it off.
- LED Temperature Indicator: Light color changes from blue to red as water temperature increases.
- Battery Life: Faucets can run for up to 2 years on 6 AA batteries.
Handle Limit Stop Adjustment (Optional)
For specific models (538T, 551T, 751T), an integrated handle limit stop can be adjusted to limit hot water mix, potentially preventing scalding. This adjustment is made by removing the handle, setting the valve stem to the 'all cold' position, changing the limit stop position, turning off the water, and reinstalling the handle.
Custom Fit Connections & Plastic Sleeve Installation
Ensure supply tubing is cut straight and burr-free. Use the provided RP50952 sleeves and nuts. Slide the nut and plastic sleeve onto the tube, insert into the fitting, slide the sleeve down to engage the fitting, and tighten the nut. Ensure the plastic sleeve is oriented correctly to prevent leaks.
Potential Problems & Remedies:
- Improperly Cut Tubing: Recut tubing carefully to avoid being too short.
- Tubing Cut Too Short: Purchase a coupling union and replacement supply line.
- Lost Plastic Sleeve or Nut: Purchase replacement parts designed for PEX tubing. Do not use alternative metal sleeves or ferrules.
