Installation Steps
Follow these steps for installation:
- Step 1: Slide the base plate over the hose assembly. Ensure the tab on the base plate (1) is positioned at the rear of the faucet for proper contact.
- Step 2: Ensure the tab on the base (6) is correctly seated in the sink hole.
- Step 3: Orient parts as shown in Insert D. Ensure the isolation feature (7) on the bracket is in the sink hole. The shank (8) must not touch the sink edge to ensure proper touch operation.
- Step 4: Install check valves on hot and cold water supplies. Secure the nut to the supply valve, hand-tighten, then add one additional turn with a wrench. Use a second wrench to avoid overtightening. Repeat for the other supply line.
- Step 5: Connect supply lines, ensuring fittings are free of debris. Apply sealant if necessary.
- Step 6: Tighten the check valves an additional turn with a wrench, using a second wrench to prevent overtightening. Repeat for the other side.
- Step 7: Connect the hose to the weight assembly.
- Step 8: Connect the hose to the solenoid assembly.
- Optional Soap Dispenser Installation: Components for the dispenser include the dispenser assembly, solenoid assembly, battery box, and associated wiring. Ensure wires are routed away from the solenoid and properly connected. Batteries (AA or C) should be installed in the battery box, and the box placed on the cabinet floor.
- Plastic Sleeve Installation: For PEX tubing connections, slide the nut (2) and plastic sleeve (3) onto the cut tube. Ensure the sleeve is oriented correctly. Insert the tube into the fitting (4) until it touches the bottom. Slide the sleeve down to engage the fitting. Slide the nut over the sleeve and tighten with a wrench. Ensure the tube is cut straight and burr-free. Do not overtighten.
- Custom Fit Connections: Installers are responsible for cutting supply tubing to ensure a leak-free joint. Use RP50952 sleeves and included nuts. Secure the metal nut (1) on the faucet tube to the supply valve connection (2), hand-tighten, then tighten an additional 2 turns with a wrench. Do not overtighten.
Troubleshooting
LED Guide:
- Solid Blue: Solenoid valve open, water temp < 80°F (27°C).
- Solid Magenta: Solenoid valve open, water temp 80°F-110°F (27°C-43°C).
- Solid Red: Solenoid valve open, water temp > 110°F (43°C).
- 3 Red Flashes: Replace batteries before solenoid opens/closes.
Common Issues & Solutions:
- Low Flow: Clean aerator (1) and blue filter (9) inside solenoid valve.
- Leaks: Disassemble handle, cap, bonnet, and cartridge (7) to check for proper seating and tighten bonnet nut (6) securely with a wrench.
- Solenoid Not Working (No Water/Light): Check battery orientation, replace batteries, verify AC adapter outlet is powered, ensure spout sense clip (RP53233) is attached and secure. If touching the clip turns the faucet on/off, adjust mounting hardware for proper isolation.
- Touch Sensitivity Issues: Place the battery pack flat on the floor under the sink.
- No Water, But Light On: Ensure handle is in the 'on' position, water supplies are on, check spray head inlet for debris, check flow from solenoid assembly, clean solenoid filter, or replace solenoid assembly and electronics kit if water reaches solenoid but not the spout.
- Water Continues Flowing: Touch faucet on/off multiple times to clear debris from solenoid. If issue persists, replace solenoid assembly.
- Spout Indicator Not Illuminating: Check spout indicator connector is fully inserted into solenoid assembly. If problem persists, replace indicator base and solenoid assembly.
Note: The faucet has an auto shut-off feature, turning off water flow if not touched for 4 minutes.
Manual Bypass Option: For temporary manual operation, the solenoid assembly can be removed, and the hose connected directly to the faucet outlet.
Quick Tips
Operation: Tap anywhere on the spout, base, or handle to activate. The faucet distinguishes between a touch and a grab. Use the handle to control temperature and volume.
Auto Shut-off: The faucet automatically shuts off after 4 minutes of continuous water flow.
