A. Hardware Review
Front View
- 1 LCD Display: Shows status and information.
- 2 Function Pushbuttons: For system settings and navigation.
- 3 Input Pushbuttons (1-32): Select input sources.
- 4 Output Pushbuttons (1-32): Select output destinations.
- 5 Alarm LED: Indicates system alarms.
- 6 Redundant Power LED: Indicates status of the redundant power supply.
- 7 Primary Power LED: Indicates status of the primary power supply.
- 8 Handles: For carrying and positioning the unit.
- 9 Recessed Handles: Integrated handles for easier grip.
Rear View
- 1 Power Switch: Turns the unit on/off.
- 2 RS-485 / RS-422 Serial Port: For serial communication control.
- 3 Ethernet Port: For network connectivity and remote management.
- 4 RS-232 Serial Port: For serial communication control.
- 5 Primary Power Slot: For inserting the primary power module.
- 6 Redundant Power Slot: For inserting an optional secondary power module for redundancy.

Power Module

C. Hardware Installation
Follow these steps to safely install the VM3250:
- Use a grounding wire to ground the unit. Connect one end to the grounding terminal and the other end to a suitable grounded object.
- Install input and output boards into the VM3250.
- Remove the screws on the cover of the desired input/output board slot and remove the cover.
- Slide the input/output board into the slot and tighten the screws on the board.
- Repeat for all I/O boards.
- Connect A/V source devices to the Video and Audio ports of the installed input boards.
- Connect video display devices to the Video ports of the installed output boards.
- (Optional) Connect speakers or audio output devices to the Audio ports of the installed output boards.
- (Optional) For serial control of multiple VM3250 units, connect a computer or serial controller to the RS-485 / RS-422 Serial Port using an appropriate serial cable and the supplied terminal block connector.
- (Optional) For remote operation via the web interface, connect the VM3250's Ethernet port to the network using an Ethernet cable.
- (Optional) For serial control, connect a computer or serial controller to the VM3250's RS-232 Serial Port using an appropriate serial cable.
- Insert the power module into the primary power slot. Plug the power cord into the VM3250's 3-prong socket and then into a power source. Ensure the module is stabilized (it should not be removable without pressing the release lever).
- (Optional) For redundant power, plug in a secondary power module into the Redundant Power Slot.
- Ground all connected devices in your installation.
- Power on the VM3250 and all connected devices.
Note: Proper grounding is essential to prevent damage from power surges or static electricity. Refer to the user manual for more details. A secondary power module must be purchased separately for power redundancy.
D. Operation
The VM3250 can be operated locally via front-panel pushbuttons or remotely via its web console or a serial controller/computer using RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 serial communication.
Front-panel Pushbuttons
- To access system settings, enter the default password '1234' using the number pushbuttons.
- To configure A/V input to output assignment:
- Press the Input Pushbutton for the desired input. The Output Pushbuttons for assigned outputs will light up.
- To assign the input to an output, press the corresponding Output Pushbutton. The Output Pushbutton will light up to confirm success.
- To cancel an assignment, press the corresponding Output Pushbutton again. The Output Pushbutton will dim to indicate it's no longer assigned.
Note: By default, audio and video signals are switched together. Use the dedicated Audio and Video Pushbuttons for independent control.
- To access system settings, press the Menu Pushbutton.
Web Interface
The web interface provides access to advanced settings like profile schedules and user accounts. The VM3250 supports up to 16 concurrent logins.
- Default IP address: 192.168.0.60
- Default Username/Password: administrator/password
