Tools and Wall Mounting
Required tools:
- Screwdriver (Phillips head)
- Hammer
- Tape measure
- Drill
- Drill bits: Ø 8 mm (5/16"), Ø 3 mm (1/8")
Wall mounting guidance:
The screw(s) and plug(s) supplied can be used with most solid (A) and hollow (B) walls. For solid wood (C) use the screw(s) without plug(s). If you are uncertain, seek professional advice.
- Type A (Solid Walls): Drill Ø 8 mm (5/16") hole. Insert plug.
- Type B (Hollow Walls): Drill Ø 8 mm (5/16") hole. Insert plug.
- Type C (Solid Wood): Drill Ø 3 mm (1/8") hole. Use screw(s) without plug(s).

Main Unit Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble the main SMÅSTAD unit.
Step 1: Prepare Base Panels
Two base panels are shown. A screw (part 130449) is inserted into one panel.
Step 2: Attach Side Panels
Side panels are being attached to the base. Arrows indicate the direction of assembly.
Step 3: Secure with Cam Locks
Cam locks (110837) and bolts (102533, 102509) are used to connect the panels. Incorrect usage of cam locks is indicated with a cross symbol (❌).
Step 4: Attach Top Panels
Top panels are secured using cam lock assemblies (130449).
Step 5: Connect Main Structure
Side panels are attached to the assembled base and top. Arrows indicate the direction.
Step 6: Reinforce Structure
Cam locks (102533) and bolts (110837) are used to reinforce the main structure. Incorrect usage is indicated with a cross symbol (❌).
Step 7: Insert Screw
A screw (130449) is inserted into the structure.
Step 8: Position Top Panel
A top panel is slid into place.
Step 9: Secure Top Panel
Cam locks (102509) are used to secure the top panel.
Step 10: Attach Top Screws
Screws (109546) are inserted into the top of the unit.
Step 11: Install Locking Mechanisms
Circular locking mechanisms (152642) are attached to the unit.
Step 12: Orient Unit and Add Dowels
The unit is shown being oriented upright. A screw (100001) and dowel (100215) are indicated for this step.
Step 13: Install Internal Shelves
Internal shelves are attached using cam locks (116637) and bolts (114929). A numbered list (1-11) is shown, likely for part identification or sequence.
Step 14: Insert Shelf
A shelf is inserted into the unit.
Step 15: Adjust Feet
The unit is shown being leveled or adjusted using adjustable feet (4x). Arrows indicate vertical movement.
Step 16: Secure Top Mechanism
A securing mechanism (2x) is attached to the top of the unit.
Step 17: Position Unit
The unit is shown being pushed against a wall.

Step 19: Attach Wall Bracket

Step 20: Install Drawer/Tray Mechanism
A drawer or tray mechanism (10005905) is attached. The word "Click!" indicates successful attachment.
Step 21: Attach Handle/Rail
A handle or rail (101351) is attached using screws.
Step 22: Attach Side Pieces
Side pieces are attached to a base using screws (100006, 100224).
Step 23: Secure Shelves
Shelves are inserted and secured with screws (100006, 100224).
Step 24: Secure Unit to Wall
The unit is secured to the wall using brackets (10055125) and screws (101083).
Step 25: Extend Changing Surface
A pull-out changing surface is shown being extended.
Step 26: Secure Changing Surface
The changing surface is secured using a mechanism (112571).
