Sicce SCUBA CONTACTLESS Aquarium Heater
The SCUBA CONTACTLESS is a submersible electronic heater designed for heating freshwater and saltwater aquariums, terrariums, hydroponics, and hydroculture for internal use only. Improper use is not covered by the manufacturer's liability.
Important Note: This product requires a new generation smartphone with NFC functionality to operate. NFC may be automatic or require activation in the phone's settings. The heater will only function with an NFC connection. The warranty does not cover refunds or replacements due to the absence of NFC functionality on your device.
Important Safety Instructions
SCUBA CTL is manufactured in compliance with national and international safety laws. It is designed for full immersion in water with a maximum operating depth of 1 meter (IEC 60335-2-55).
- Always check that the power requirements on the heater's label match your power supply. Use with a GFCI outlet with a nominal current of 30mA or lower.
- The heater MUST be immersed in water at least to the “MINIMUM” level indicator.
- Before connecting, check the cable and heater for any physical damage.
- The heater has a Type Z cable link. The cable and plug cannot be substituted or repaired; if damaged, the entire product must be replaced.
- CAUTION: Disconnect all submerged electrical products before performing any maintenance in water. If the plug or outlet is damaged, disconnect the main power before unplugging the cable.
- Never operate the heater out of water to avoid damage.
- Use the heater in liquids or environments with temperatures not exceeding 35°C (95°F).
- Do not use the heater for purposes other than its intended use, such as in bathrooms.
- Do not use with corrosive or abrasive liquids.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction on safe use and understand the hazards. Children should not play with the appliance, and cleaning/maintenance should not be done by children without supervision.
- To prevent liquid from entering the wall outlet, ensure a "drip loop" is used for the power cord. (See Fig. A)
- Avoid moving the heater by the cord during installation or maintenance.
- The heater is for indoor use only.
WARNING: To avoid electric shock, be careful when using the product. Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself. Take the product to an authorized service center or destroy it.
Operating Instructions
- WARNING: Turn off and disconnect all appliances inside the aquarium before installation or maintenance.
- Check the heater's voltage against your main power supply.
- Attach the suction cups to the heater.
- Place the heater in an area of the aquarium with good water circulation, preferably near a water movement source for even heat distribution.
- DO NOT PLUG IN THE HEATER UNTIL IT IS FULLY SUBMERGED IN WATER.
- Ensure the heater remains submerged at all times.
- Choose the correct heater wattage based on aquarium capacity, type, room temperature, and recommended ratio (average 1W per liter).
The SCUBA CONTACTLESS heater increases water temperature to the set temperature.
- LED ON: Heater is operating.
- LED OFF: Set temperature has been reached.
The factory setting is 25°C (77°F). Adjust the temperature using the CONTRALL APP, available on the Play Store (Android) or Apple Store. Download and launch the app, add the heater to "MY DEVICES," and bring the top of the heater into contact with your smartphone's NFC reader to activate communication. This allows you to read, set, or change the desired temperature.
Some smartphones may allow NFC communication through the aquarium glass, while others may require removing the heater from the tank. Always unplug the heater before removing it from the water. Smartphone-heater communication works even when the heater is not connected to power. Refer to the QR code for a detailed guide to the app and heater adjustment.
A tolerance of +/- 1°C (+/-2°F) may exist between the set and measured temperatures due to aquarium type, water volume, positioning, and water movement.
The electronic safety control automatically switches off the heater when it is removed from water or when the set temperature is reached.
If the heater does not reach the set temperature, the wattage may be too low for the aquarium volume. Use the post-calibration function in the ContrALL APP to recalibrate the heater based on detected aquarium values.
For safety, regularly check the water temperature.
Maintenance
The heater requires minimal maintenance, primarily periodic cleaning of the glass to remove salt or algae deposits. Do not use detergents, solvents, or acids; use water and vinegar or SICCE PUMP CLEAN.
ATTENTION: Never attempt to disassemble the heater or pull on the power cable.
Disposal Instructions (EU Directive 2002/96/EC)
When the product is used or broken, it must not be disposed of with other waste. Deliver it to specific electric waste collection centers or dealers providing this service. Separate disposal of electrical equipment helps prevent negative consequences for the environment and health, and allows for material recycling, saving energy and resources.

Fig. A - Drip Loop Illustration
Diagram showing a "drip loop" configuration for the power cord to prevent water from reaching the outlet.
Diagram Description:
A loop is formed in the power cord below the level of the electrical outlet. This loop ensures that any water dripping down the cord will fall to the floor instead of reaching the outlet.
