Controls
The PK112A/PK115A features a comprehensive set of controls for versatile audio management:
- SD/MMC Slot: Play digital audio files from SD/MMC cards.
- LED DISPLAY: Shows current file and playback settings.
- USB Input: Play audio files from a USB stick.
- INFRARED RECEIVER: Connects to the remote control.
- DIGITAL MEDIA PLAYER Controls: Includes PLAY/PAUSE, STOP, VOLUME UP/DOWN, BACK, FORWARD, REPEAT, EQ, and MODE buttons for media playback.
- MIC 1/2 Jacks: Accept audio signals via XLR, balanced 1/4" TRS, or unbalanced 1/4" TS connectors.
- MIC 1/2 Knobs: Control the input level for the respective microphone channels.
- LINE/MP3 Knob: Controls the volume level for LINE IN and MP3 signals.
- MASTER Knob: Adjusts the final speaker volume.
- MP3/LINE Switch: Toggles between the MP3 player or LINE IN audio sources.
- PWR LED: Lights up when the audio system is connected to power and switched on.
- CLIP LED: Indicates the internal limiter is responding to signal peaks.
- TREBLE Knob: Adjusts the level of treble frequencies.
- BASS Knob: Adjusts the level of bass frequencies.
- LINE OUT Connections: Send an unbalanced stereo signal to external devices using RCA connectors.
- LINE IN Connections: Accept unbalanced stereo signals from external devices using RCA connectors.
- EXTENSION OUTPUT: Allows connection and driving of an additional speaker cabinet (min. 8 Ω total load) using professional twist-locking connectors.
- POWER Switch: Turns the unit on and off.
- AC INPUT Socket: Accepts the included IEC power cable.
- Remote Control: Features STOP, MODE, MUTE, BACK, FORWARD, PLAY/PAUSE, VOL +/-, EQ, 100+, 200+, and a NUMERIC KEYPAD for media playback management.
Getting Started
- Place the speaker in your desired location.
- Set all controls: HIGH and LOW EQ knobs to their centered position (12 o'clock); MIC 1/2, LINE/MP3, and MASTER knobs to their minimum levels (fully counter-clockwise).
- Make all necessary connections. Do NOT turn on the power yet.
- Turn on your audio sources (mixer, microphones, instruments).
- Turn on your speaker(s) by pressing the POWER switch. The PWR LED will light up.
- Insert your USB device or SD/MMC flash memory card with digital audio files into their respective USB or SD/MMC connections.
- Use the DIGITAL MEDIA PLAYER controls to select a digital audio file and begin playback by pressing PLAY/PAUSE.
- Turn the LINE/MP3 control up to approximately 50%.
- Turn the MASTER knob clockwise until you find a comfortable volume level.
- For MIC 1/2 inputs: Play your analog audio source or speak into your microphone at a normal-to-loud level while adjusting the MIC 1/2 knob. Lower the knob if the sound distorts.
- For LINE IN RCA inputs: Set the device's output level to approximately 50%, then start playback. Rotate the LINE/MP3 knob to adjust the volume level for the LINE IN RCA jacks.
- Note: The LINE IN jacks and MP3 player share the LINE/MP3 level knob. Adjust external device volume for desired sound balance.
- Make final volume adjustments using the MASTER knob.
- Adjust HIGH and LOW EQ knobs to taste.
Using Extension Speaker Cabinets
- Ensure the unit is powered down with the MASTER knob at minimum (fully counter-clockwise).
- Connect a speaker cable with professional twist-locking connectors from the EXTENSION OUTPUT jack to the speaker cabinet's input.
- Slowly turn the MASTER knob clockwise while playing audio until the desired volume is reached.
- Ensure the total impedance of the extension cabinet(s) is a minimum of 8 Ω.
Bluetooth Pairing
- Press the MODE button to select Bluetooth (bt) mode and activate pairing.
- Enable Bluetooth on your audio device.
- Check that your device is searching for a connection.
- Once your device detects the speaker, select PK112A/PK115A from its menu.
- Wait for an active connection to be shown.
- Set your device's output volume to approximately 50%.
- Begin audio playback on your device.
- Use the LINE/MP3 knob to balance Bluetooth volume with other audio.
- Adjust the MASTER knob for the desired final volume.
