Hook-up Diagram Description

The diagram illustrates connecting the EUROLIVE speaker system. A Behringer X1204USB mixer is shown as the central audio source. A microphone (XM8500) is connected to the mixer's input. The mixer's output is connected to the EUROLIVE speaker. An optional BEHRINGER DIGITAL WIRELESS microphone receiver is shown connected to the speaker's wireless input. Another speaker is depicted connected as a "Slaved to secondary pair," indicating a daisy-chain setup for stereo or multiple speaker configurations.

Controls

The speaker features various controls for operation:

  1. POWER switch: Turns the speaker on/off.
  2. IEC power cable jack: Connect the included power cable here.
  3. Fuse holder: For replacing a blown fuse.
  4. MIX OUTPUT: Sends a copy of the source signal to another speaker using an XLR cable.
  5. XLR/TRS combo input: Accepts microphones, balanced mixer outputs, or other line-level signals.
  6. INPUT 1 and INPUT 2 LEVEL knobs: Adjust the input sensitivity (gain) for the respective combo jacks.
  7. CLIP LED (Input): Illuminates when the input signal begins to overload.
  8. LOW EQUALIZER: Cuts or boosts bass frequencies by +/- 15 dB.
  9. HIGH EQUALIZER: Cuts or boosts treble frequencies by +/- 15 dB.
  10. CLIP LED (Main Output): Illuminates when the main output signal begins to overload.
  11. WIRELESS SYSTEM input: Connects optional BEHRINGER wireless microphone receivers.
  12. Wireless LEDs: Indicate the status of the wireless microphone signal input.
  13. MP3 player controls: Buttons for playback of files from a USB flash drive (PLAYBACK, FOLDER, TRACK).
  14. LEVEL knob (MP3 Player): Controls the MP3 player volume.
  15. LCD window: Displays the MP3 playback status (e.g., track name, time).
  16. USB jack: Accepts standard USB flash drives for MP3 playback.
  17. MODE and DISP(LAY) buttons: Control MP3 playback mode and LCD screen contrast.

Getting Started

Initial Setup

  1. Place the speaker(s) in desired locations, either on stands or as wedge monitors on the floor.
  2. Make all necessary connections. Do not turn on the power yet.
  3. Turn on your audio source (mixer, microphone).
  4. Turn on your speaker(s) by pressing the POWER SWITCH. The POWER LED will light up.
  5. Play your audio source or speak into your microphone at a normal to loud level.
  6. Adjust the LEVEL knob to the desired volume. If the CLIP LED flashes, turn the LEVEL knob down. If using multiple speakers, the LEVEL knob must be adjusted on each speaker.
  7. If necessary, adjust the HIGH and LOW EQUALIZER knobs on each speaker to boost or cut treble and bass frequencies to taste.

USB MP3 Playback

  1. Attach a USB flash drive to the USB port.
  2. Switch between folders on the drive using the FOLDER buttons. Select the track you wish to play using the TRACK buttons.
  3. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start or stop playback.
  4. Press the REPEAT button and then the MODE button to select between repeating: ALL mp3 files on the USB drive, files in the current FOLDER, the currently playing file (SINGLE), or to play all files in RANDOM order.
  5. Press the DISP(LAY) button to change what appears on the screen of the MP3 player between TAG (artist and song name information), TRACK (file name up to 64 characters), or TIME (shows track number in current folder and the elapsed time of the currently running track).
  6. Press the DISP(LAY) and MODE buttons simultaneously to cycle through screen contrast intensities.
  7. Adjust the playback volume using the LEVEL knob.

Optional Wireless Microphone Setup

  1. Insert the optional BEHRINGER DIGITAL WIRELESS microphone receiver into the input.
  2. Turn the ON/OFF switches on the microphones to the "ON" position.
  3. The LED on the receiver will flash during the pairing process. Once the connection between the wireless microphone and the receiver is achieved, the LED will remain on (solid).
  4. Speak into the wireless microphones and adjust the volume using the volume buttons on the individual microphones. Press and hold the volume down button for two seconds to mute the microphone signal. Press the volume up button to unmute the microphone.
