IP65-rated dustproof and waterproof
This product meets IP65 (dustproof and waterproof) requirements. It has undergone dustproof testing by being vacuumed and placed in a dust box for 8 hours, with no dust found. Waterproof testing involved spraying with a nozzle (6.3mm inner diameter, 12.5 L/min flow rate), after which the product operated normally with no water ingress.
Anti-corrosion
The galvanized metal surface can withstand continuous exposure to salt spray at 35°C +/- 2°C (90%-95% relative humidity) with a 5% NaCl concentration for 48 hours.
Load-bearing tests
The L-shaped bracket and center screw are made of SUS304 steel and have passed industrial-grade outdoor reliability and durability tests. The product weighs 2.2kg (4.9lbs) and its bracket and screw can support a load of 10kg (22lbs).
Powering On Your Floodlight Camera
Note: To avoid scratching the camera, do not remove the protective film yet.
Place the Floodlight Camera on a table, open the USB port cover, and connect it to a power source using the micro USB charging cable and a 5V/1A power adapter (not provided). Wait 1 minute or until the LED indicator blinks red. The floodlights will only operate in wired power mode; the USB connection is for initial setup.
Setting Up the Floodlight Camera
Push and hold the button to open the mounting base and locate the QR Code. Download the eufy Security app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Log in or sign up for a eufy Security account and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Troubleshooting: If the Floodlight Camera LED blinks red, it may not be connected to the internet. Ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal at the installation location or consider moving your router closer or using a Wi-Fi range extender.
Preparing Floodlight Camera for Installation
- Unplug the power adapter and close the mounting base and USB port cover.
- Shut down the circuit breaker for your house. Test by switching lights on/off to confirm power is off.
- Remove any previous floodlight or camera from the junction box and install the mounting plate. Ensure the junction box and electrical wires are present. The concaved side of the mounting plate must face outwards.
Warning: Always exercise caution when working with electricity to avoid shock, injury, or death.
Mounting Your Floodlight Camera
For optimal motion detection, install the Floodlight Camera 2-3 meters above the ground. You can hang it or mount it vertically on a wall, depending on your junction box position.
Wall Mount Installation
- Before Mounting: Pass the hook through the other end of the string as illustrated.
- Ladder Safety: When using a ladder, do not place it directly under the Floodlight Camera. Position it to the lower left or right to avoid obstructing your view. ✔️ (Correct placement) ❌ (Incorrect placement)
- Hang the Floodlight Camera on the junction box using the provided hook. If the junction box is installed in the wall, hang the camera on the mounting plate.
Connecting Wires
- Ground Wires: Connect the ground wires (yellow or green) from the junction box and Floodlight Camera using a wire nut. If no ground wire is present in the junction box, connect the camera's ground wire directly to the junction box or mounting plate.
- Other Wires: Connect the white wire (neutral) of the camera to the white wire from the junction box, and the black wire (hot) of the camera to the black wire from the junction box, using wire nuts. The GROUND wire is green and yellow. Ensure it connects to the junction box's GROUND wire. The other two wires do not require a specific connection order.
Warning: Always exercise caution when working with electricity. If you are uncomfortable with electrical wiring, hire a professional electrician.
Mounting the Floodlight Camera
- Remove the hook and press the button to open the mounting base.
- Align the mounting base and insert the central screw through its center, screwing it in tightly. Use the central screw cap to cover the screw and prevent rusting.
- Cover the central screw with the provided cap.
- Align the screws using the side view for easier access.
- Adjust the angle as described in the "Adjusting the Lighting Angle" section for the best view.
- Remove the label and protective film from the Floodlight.
Mount Floodlight Camera on the Ceiling
- Follow the steps for "Mount Floodlight Camera onto a Wall" to select the mounting location and connect wires.
- Insert and tighten the central screw through the center of the mounting base.
- Cover the central screw with the provided cap.
- Ensure the Floodlight Camera is placed more than 6 inches (15 cm) away from a side wall.
- Snap the camera onto its base.
- Adjust the angle as described in the "Adjusting the Lighting Angle" section.
- Remove the label and protective film on the Floodlight.
- Switch on the main circuit breaker in the house.
