Installation Requirements
Non-Combustible Construction
An insulated jacket is NOT required for non-combustible construction.
Diagram Descriptions:
- Top View: Illustrates the required opening dimensions, gas connection location, and grill overhang for installation.
- Front View: Shows the necessary opening height, width for doors/drawers, and overall opening height including the countertop.
Key Requirements:
- Combustible material must be kept at least 12 inches away from the grill frame in all directions (horizontal & vertical).
- The grill is designed to hang from the countertop with no under-support.
- A minimum rear clearance of 7 inches is required to the wall/partition behind the grill for exhaust ventilation.
Combustible Construction
An insulated jacket IS REQUIRED for combustible construction (Model # CJAKTCS30).
Diagram Descriptions:
- Top View: Details the opening dimensions, gas connection, and grill overhang when using the insulated jacket.
- Front View: Shows the required opening height, width for doors/drawers, and overall opening height, ensuring proper fit with the insulated jacket.
Key Requirements:
- If using combustible material within 12 inches of the grill frame, the corresponding Coyote Insulated Jacket must be used.
- Using an insulated jacket does not exempt users from other standard installation procedures (e.g., ventilation, connections).
- The jacket is designed to hang from the countertop with no under-support.
- A minimum rear clearance of 7 inches is required to the wall/partition behind the grill for exhaust ventilation.
Ventilation Requirements
Proper ventilation is crucial for safe operation. Ensure the following:
- Include at least two vents within the island, each with a minimum area of 20 square inches.
- These vents must allow fresh air to move from the grill cabinet to the exterior environment.
- For propane setups, install vents lower in the island as propane is heavier than air.
- For natural gas setups, install vents higher in the island as natural gas is lighter than air.
- Do not place both vents on the same wall; cross-ventilation is essential for dissipating excess heat or trapped gas.
