INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
NON-COMBUSTIBLE CONSTRUCTION (Insulated Jacket NOT Required)
Diagrams show top and front views for non-combustible construction, detailing clearances and gas connection points. Key considerations include:
- Maintain a minimum 24" clearance from the grill frame to combustible materials (horizontal and vertical).
- The shaded area in the top view indicates the 24" minimum requirement (not to scale).
- The grill is designed to hang from the countertop without underneath support.
- Minimum 2" rear clearance is required for the hood to open.
- A minimum 7" rear clearance to a wall or partition is recommended for exhaust ventilation.
COMBUSTIBLE CONSTRUCTION (Insulated Jacket Required - Model # CJAKTCS36)
Diagrams show top and front views for combustible construction, highlighting the necessity of the insulated jacket and clearances. Key considerations include:
- If combustible materials are within 24" of the grill frame, the Coyote Insulated Jacket (Model # CJAKTCS36) must be used.
- Using the insulated jacket does not negate other standard installation procedures, such as ventilation and connections.
- The jacket is designed to hang from the countertop without underneath support.
- Minimum 2" clearance for the hood to open.
- A minimum 7" rear clearance to a wall or partition is recommended for exhaust ventilation.
Ventilation Requirements (Applicable to both construction types)
Proper ventilation is crucial for safe operation. Ensure the following:
- Install at least two vents within the island, each with a minimum area of 20 sq. inches.
- These vents must allow fresh air to circulate from the grill cabinet to the exterior.
- For propane grills, install vents lower in the island as propane is heavier than air.
- For natural gas grills, install vents higher in the island as natural gas is lighter than air.
- Position the two vents on different walls of the island to facilitate cross-ventilation, which helps dissipate excess heat or trapped gas.
