Introduction

Thank you for your purchase of Swiss Digital Fuse Box! This product was designed as THE ULTIMATE FUSE for your audio equipment.

Before you begin, you MUST read and understand the instruction manual. The Swiss Digital Fuse Box requires a very clear understanding that you can hurt yourself or damage your audio equipment unless you pay strict attention to this manual. Your safety and your equipment is at stake.

Usage Instructions

First Step | Installing the SLUGGO

If you have gotten to this point in installing Swiss Digital Fuse Box in your system, it means you have acknowledged and accepted the consequences of improper use of this product.

IF YOU'RE HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS

Please stop right here and do not open the sealed bag containing the Fuse Box. By opening the bag, you are accepting all responsibility for its use.

If not, here are the instructions. Installing the Swiss Digital Fuse Box is a two-step process.

  1. Please turn off and unplug the device you will be using the Fuse Box with. If it has a detachable power cord, remove that as well.

  2. Locate the fuse holder of the target product. This may be in an outside compartment which slides, snaps or screws in. Otherwise, it is inside in some kind of snap-in clip which will require removing the cover of the product. Please refer to the instructions that comes with the target product.

  3. While you are there, please confirm that the printed fuse value and type (fast blow or slow blow) are the same value and type on the printed label of the Fuse Box you received. If not, STOP HERE and DO NOT install the SLUGGO into your equipment.

Note: The Fuse Box is designed to be used with 110V to 240V AC Products at 50 and 60hz that utilizes either 5mm x 20mm or 6mm x 32mm fuses.

  4. If everything matches up then go ahead and remove the existing fuse from your equipment and install SLUGGO in its place.

  5. Replace the covers, caps or anything else you might have taken apart so your product is all back together.

Also Note: You cannot use this product in place of the DC Rail Fuse that some amplifiers use. DO NOT TRY OR ELSE IT COULD RESULT IN SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE AMPLIFIERS. You accept all responsibility for the substitution of the target product's safety fuse with SLUGGO. Which by itself, offers no safety protection a fuse is used for. Do not plug the target product directly into a wall outlet or other source of AC Mains Voltage. Swiss Digital Fuse Box must be used in conjunction with the SLUGGO in order to restore safe operation of your product.

Second Step | Plugging the Fuse Box

  1. Be sure the power switch of the target equipment is in the OFF position.

  2. Plug the cable from your target equipment into the Swiss Digital Fuse Box outlet.

  3. Plug the IEC of the AC Mains Power Cable into the Swiss Digital Fuse Box.

  4. Then plug the other end of your AC Mains Power Cable into your wall outlet or mains power filter.

  5. Immediately the LED on the outlet end of the Fuse Box will start blinking our pattern of short and long pulses as it goes through it's self-test routine and can be used to indicate the fuse rating, that's why we never need that information from you.

  6. Once the LED stops blinking, it will illuminate steadily. That's the sign that the Swiss Digital Fuse Box is ready for use.

  7. You may now turn ON the power switch of your equipment and begin listening.

The improvements the Swiss Digital Fuse Box will make should be easily audible to you.

Troubleshooting

So long as there is no current-draw fault in your equipment, you will have no further interaction with the Swiss Digital Fuse Box. It will just sit there steadily and reliably doing its job of monitoring the current flowing through it. However, if at any point your equipment attempts to draw current in excess of its programmed rating, it will "blow". Though not in the traditional sense where a fuse burns open and is not reusable.

The Swiss Digital Fuse Box will only put itself in the OFF condition where the only way to turn it ON again is to remove it from the AC mains power, then let it sit for one minute and plug it back in to your AC mains.

If the Swiss Digital Fuse Box does "Blow"

You should first inspect your product, cables, mains connections, etc... for faults before plugging it back into the Swiss Digital Fuse Box the second time.

If the Swiss Digital Fuse Box Blows the Second Time

It is highly likely that there is something wrong with your equipment. It's high unlikely that the Swiss Digital Fuse Box is broken. More likely that the fuse rating of the Swiss Digital Fuse Box you ordered is not correct for your equipment.

To troubleshoot where the failure might be, you should safely install the original fuses back into your product to see if it works correctly. If it blows its own fuses, then you have the answer. If not then you should call our customer service number so we can determine if the product you received has the correct programming.
