Important Safety Instructions
(Keep these instructions)
This manual contains important safety instructions. Please read and carefully follow all instructions when installing and using the equipment. Read this manual carefully before unpacking, installing, or operating your UPS.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! To avoid fire or electric shock hazards, install the UPS indoors in a location where temperature and humidity can be controlled. (Refer to specifications for acceptable temperature and humidity ranges.)
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! To reduce the risk of UPS overheating, do not cover the UPS cooling vents and avoid exposing the unit to direct sunlight or installing it near heat-emitting appliances such as heaters or warm air generators.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! Do not connect appliances such as medical equipment, life-support equipment, microwave ovens, or vacuum cleaners to this UPS.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! Do not connect the UPS input to its own output.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! Do not allow any liquid or foreign objects to enter the UPS. Do not place beverages or any other liquid-containing containers on or near the unit.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! In case of emergency, press the OFF button and disconnect the power cord from the mains to properly shut down the UPS.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! Do not attach a power strip or surge protector to the UPS.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! Disconnect the UPS before cleaning and do not use liquid or aerosol detergents.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! Battery maintenance should be performed or supervised by qualified personnel. Keep unauthorized personnel away from batteries.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! Battery power must be disconnected from the positive and negative terminals at the connectors when maintenance or servicing inside the UPS is required.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! The internal battery voltage is 12Vdc. Battery type: Sealed, lead-acid, 6-cell.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! When replacing batteries, use the same number and type of batteries.
- ⚠️ ATTENTION! Risk of explosion if batteries are disposed of in fire. Do not open or mutilate the battery. Released electrolyte is harmful to skin and eyes.
Installing Your UPS System
Unpacking
The package should contain the following items: one UPS and one user manual.
Overview
The UPS automatically regulates mains voltage for power supply and provides backup power during power outages using a battery. It ensures a constant power supply to your computer system.
Hardware Installation Guide
- Your new UPS can be used immediately. However, it is recommended to recharge the battery for at least 8 hours to ensure maximum battery charge capacity is reached. Charge loss may occur during shipping and storage. To recharge the battery, simply leave the unit plugged into a wall outlet. The unit charges in both ON and OFF modes.
- Once the UPS is turned off and unplugged, connect your computer, monitor, and any externally powered data storage devices (Zip drive, Jazz drive, tape drive, etc.) into the battery power outlets. Do not plug in a laser printer, copier, heater, vacuum cleaner, paper shredder, or any other large electrical appliance into the battery power outlets. The power demands of these appliances will overload and damage the UPS.
- Plug the UPS into a 2-pole, 3-wire grounded outlet (wall socket). Ensure the wall socket is protected by a fuse or circuit breaker and does not supply power to equipment that requires a lot of electricity (e.g., air conditioner, refrigerator, photocopier, etc.).
- Press the ON button to turn on the unit. The power-on indicator light will illuminate, and the unit will emit a beep.
- If an overload is detected, an audible alarm will sound, and the unit will emit a long beep. To correct this, turn off the UPS and disconnect at least one piece of equipment from the battery power outlets. Wait 10 seconds. Ensure the circuit breaker/fuse is normal and turn on the UPS.
- To maintain optimal battery charge, leave the UPS plugged into a wall outlet at all times.
- To store your UPS for an extended period, cover it and store it with the battery fully charged. Recharge the battery every month to ensure its lifespan.
