- WARNING! To reduce the risk of UPS overheating, do not cover the UPS cooling vents, expose it to direct sunlight, or install it near heat-emitting appliances such as heaters or stoves.
- WARNING! Do not connect non-computer related items such as medical equipment, life-support equipment, microwave ovens, or vacuum cleaners to the UPS.
- WARNING! Do not connect the UPS input to its own output.
- WARNING! Do not allow liquid or any foreign objects to enter the UPS. Do not place drinks or any other liquid containers on or near the unit.
- WARNING! In case of emergency, press the OFF button and disconnect the power cord from the AC mains to properly shut down the UPS.
- WARNING! Do not connect an extension cord or surge suppressor to the UPS.
- WARNING! Disconnect from mains before cleaning and do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
- WARNING! Battery servicing should be performed by or supervised by personnel knowledgeable about batteries and the necessary precautions. Keep unauthorized persons away from batteries.
- WARNING! If maintenance or repair work is required inside the UPS, disconnect the positive and negative battery terminals at the quick-disconnect connectors.
- WARNING! Internal battery voltage is 12V DC. Sealed, lead-acid, 6-cell battery.
- WARNING! When replacing batteries, use batteries of the same quantity and type.
- WARNING! Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. The battery may explode. Do not open or damage the battery or batteries. Leaked electrolyte is harmful to skin and eyes.
UPS System Installation
Unpacking
The box should contain the following:
- (1) UPS Unit x1
- (2) User Manual x1
Your new UPS can be used immediately upon receipt. However, to achieve maximum battery charge capacity, it is recommended to charge it for at least 8 hours. Charge loss may occur during transport and storage. To charge the battery, simply leave the unit plugged into an AC outlet. The unit will charge whether it is turned on or off.
Basic Operation
Front Panel
The front panel features:
- 1. LCD Display: Displays UPS status, including input voltage, output voltage, battery charge percentage, and load percentage, etc.
- 2. Power Switch: Press and hold the switch for 2 seconds to turn the UPS on or off.
- 3. LED Indicators:
LCD Brightness Setting: The auto-brightness function can be turned on/off by holding the button for 10 seconds. By default, the LCD auto-brightness function is off.
Back Panel
The back panel features:
- 1. USB COMM. Port: This port allows connection and data exchange from your computer's USB port to the UPS.
- 2. RJ45/11 Communication Protection Ports: Communication protection ports will protect any standard modem, fax, telephone line, or network cable.
- 3. Input Circuit Breaker: The circuit breaker provides optimal overload protection.
- 4. Input Power Cord: Connects to the mains power supply.
- 5. Battery Backup and Surge Protected Outlets: Provide battery backup power and surge protection. Supply power to connected equipment for a period of time during a power failure.
Diagram Description (Front Panel): The front panel displays an LCD screen for status information, a power switch, and LED indicators.
